Teen Mom OG's Catelynn Lowell Through The Years

Catelynn Lowell was born to April and David Lowell on March 12, 1992. Cate's mother struggled with addiction almost her whole life, and it put a strain on their relationship as a result.

However, Cate was a very happy baby! She was born in Port Huron, Michigan, but spent most of her life in Marine City, Michigan.

Cate grew up mostly as an only child until she was three, when her parents separated and remarried.

In addition to Catelynn, April also has a daughter, Sarah, and a son, Nicholas, the latter of which we've seen a lot of on Teen Mom.

"I had a tough childhood but I’ve learned from my mother’s mistakes and hope to do better things with my life," Cate's said of the struggles of having a mom who suffered from alcoholism.

In this professional snapchat taken of a one-year-old Cate, we totally see the resemblance between her and her daughters, Carly and Nova.

The little girl with the troubled past would grow up to eventually become an advocate for adoption.

In Catelynn and Tyler's 2015 memoir, Conquering Chaos, they talk about growing up in broken homes and how they experimented at a young age with drugs and sex.  This behavior eventually led to them getting pregnant when they were still in high school, and, as we saw on 16 & Pregnant, Cate and Ty placed their daughter, Carly, up for adoption after her 2009 birth.

Once they placed their daughter, the couple eventually got their lives together, graduating from high school and moving into their own house in Michigan. In addition to the show and their memoir, Cate and Ty make money through speaking engagements around the country in which they discuss their experience with adoption and try to normalize it for others who may be dealing with a surprise pregnancy. They also had another baby, daughter Novalee Reign, in January and are getting married in August after a decade of dating!
