"I will always be the OG of the OC, but it’s time to say goodbye to The Real Housewives of Orange County. It’s been an incredible ride for 14 years and I want thank all of you for your support, for your love and for 'whooping it up' with me along the way," she wrote.
She continued, "I’ve been working on new projects that will be exciting, empowering and inspirational. My podcast with Westwood One will be launching soon and I will have much more to say about this on Whoop it up with Vicki. I hope you will join me with my new journey so please stay tuned. I love all my fans, and I want to thank Bravo and Evolution for this incredible experience which my family and I have will never forget."
Fans were left stunned after Vicki confirmed her departure. "I am incredibly disappointed in Bravo for not respecting the OG of the OC in their casting decision this year. You will always be synonymous with the Real Housewives franchise and we can’t wait to see what’s next for you!" one person wrote. "Nooooo you are the only reason I watch," another fan added.
At the beginning of January, rumors started to circulate that Vicki was on the chopping block for next season. As OK! readers know, Vicki was demoted to a "friend of the cast" for season 14. The businesswoman later declared that she would not return for another season unless she was promoted back to being a full-time housewife. “I’m never coming back reduced again,” she told the crowd at BravoCon 2019 in November.
According to RadarOnline.com, Vicki was extended an offer to be a "friend" again on season 15, and now we know she turned that down. Vicki seemed interested in the idea of a spinoff when a fan suggested it on Instagram on January 23. "Maybe you should create a spinoff about your family and business," the user wrote in the comments section of her post. "That’s a great idea,” Vicki replied. She also tagged Andy Cohen and Bravo's official Instagram account.
