After news leaked that Jaleel White and Kym Johnson got into a fight so heated that Mark Ballas and producers tried to break it up during rehearsals this week, it seemed certain that the tide of public opinion would turn against him.

Not so for Wendy Williams who competed on the show last year during season 12.

“Oh, Urkel’s going to win,” the talk-show diva, 47, tells me Monday during From Scotland With Love’s 10th Anniversary fashion show held at NYC’s Liberty Theater. “He’s likeable. He’s the Ralph Macchio. You know how Ralph went all the way, but he didn’t win? I think Urkel’s going to go all the way, and he’s going to win.”

Upon hearing he got into a fight with Kym and Mark, she gives a knowing look.

“Being that I was part of the Dancing With The Stars machine, it was probably staged for attention,” she says. “There’s a lot of tricks behind the scenes. But it’s a reality show, and that’s what people forget.”

Hmm, what’s the craziest thing that happened when she was on the show?

“Nothing. I’m too controlled for that. I got along great with my partner, we didn’t fight, yadda-yadda-yadda. There was nothing interesting. Perhaps if there was, I wouldn’t have been voted off second week.”

Having been voted off in the second week, she can look back with the gift of hindsight when it comes to advice.

“Don’t break anything. It’s really not that serious. When people break ribs and all that, it’s like playing a pickup game of basketball on a Saturday when you’re an NBA player. Don’t ruin your body for something that’s not that serious.”

Wendy sat in the front row with me as we judged the From Scotland With Love fashion show benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project, which helps American soldiers returning home from conflict in Iraq and Afghanistan, and Cash For Kids, which helps the children of Scotland who live in poverty.
