Former reality star Josh Duggar was arrested on Thursday, April 29, by federal agents in Arkansas, according to a new report.
The 33-year-old is being held in a detention center in Washington County without bail. It is unclear what charges he is facing; however, his arrest is reportedly related to the 2019 Homeland Security raid on the now-shuttered used car dealership he once owned, according to The Sun.
“The family has known that this has been coming for weeks, and Josh has been preparing himself,” the source said. “Family members are extremely concerned by what is happening and they just want to find out the truth.
"They are praying together for Josh and Anna, who is standing by her husband as she always has," the insider added, referring to Josh's wife.
In Josh's mugshot, obtained by TMZ, who first reported on his arrest, the former reality star posed with a bizarre smirk.
Josh previously had his car dealership raided in connection with a federal probe. At the time, there was an “ongoing federal investigation,” but no charges were filed against him until now.
The only other legal dispute Josh is in, as far as the public knows, is allegedly a civil lawsuit filed against him for real estate fraud.
Josh, the oldest of Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar’s 19 children, rose to fame on TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting, a reality show about the family. However, the show was canceled in 2015 after Josh was accused of molesting a slew of underage girls — including four of his sisters — when he was a teenager. Josh issued an apology but was never charged for the claims made against him.
News of Josh's arrest comes days after his wife announced she's pregnant with the couple's 7th child.
On Friday, April 23, Anna shared a video of the sex reveal as the couple stood underneath a transparent umbrella filled with pink confetti. “It’s a GIRL!!!!!” the 32-year-old captioned her Instagram post. “We are overjoyed to announce baby seven is on the way and we can’t wait to hold her in our arms this fall!”
