Alex Jones is no longer just criticizing President Donald Trump. He is calling for Congress to remove him.

The right-wing conspiracy theorist and former InfoWars owner used a livestream on X to demand action against Trump over the war in Iran, arguing that the conflict has bypassed Congress and could expand into a national crisis.

Jones, once one of Trump’s loudest media boosters, framed the issue as a fight over war powers and government control.

“The big issue is how to stop Trump,” Jones said. “We have to have Congress go for the War Powers [Resolution]. They have three times tried to vote War Powers — they’re supposed to authorize a war. This is a war; they’re getting the draft ready. If this isn’t a war, nothing’s a war."

Jones then escalated the demand.

Alex Jones warned the expanding conflict could have lasting consequences.

“This is absolutely out of control, and so I’m calling for it right now — 25th Amendment, impeachment, whatever needs to happen to get this front and center to get control of our country," he said.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in March that Trump had not ruled out the possibility of a draft for the Iran conflict. Congress has not voted to approve the war, and some lawmakers have argued that the conflict violates the Constitution and the War Powers Resolution.

The Defense Bill Flashpoint

Jones also attacked Trump’s support for the $1.15 trillion National Defense Authorization Act, which passed the House but has stalled in the Senate. The bill includes funding tied to the Iran conflict and a joint U.S.-Israel military technology integration.

Jones called Trump’s support for the measure “impeachable alone.”

“If you think it’s crazy now, imagine what’s coming with this: they want us in a total war so they can censor and take our freedoms and nationalize everything, and push us aside with AI,” Jones said.

He urged listeners to reject a wider conflict, warning that an expanded war would “destroy the economy” and “kill a bunch of our troops.”

A Break Years in the Making

The remarks marked another public split with Donald Trump's allies.

Jones previously helped energize Trump’s political rise by pushing conspiracies about his opponents, including Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. But his break over Iran has been building for months.

In April, after Trump warned Iran that “a whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again,” Jones wrote, “WAR CRIME ALERT!!” and said Trump sounded like “an unhinged super villain from a Marvel comic movie.”

Jones’ latest broadside comes after InfoWars, which he lost following the $1.4 billion Sandy Hook defamation judgment, was taken over by The Onion and relaunched as a parody in July. The Onion donated $100,000 to Sandy Hook families when it relaunched the site.
