Alyssa Milano Reveals 'Who's The Boss' Spin-Off Is Currently In Development Following Reports Of Reboot Being In 'Shambles'
Alyssa Milano spilled the beans on an exciting project!
During an interview with Fox 5's Good Day New York host Rosanna Scotto, the actress, 49, revealed a spin-off series of the hit 80's sitcom Who's The Boss — where Milano rose to fame as Samantha Micelli — is still in the works.
“We’re actually developing a reboot, well it’s more of a sequel and we’ve been developing it now for a couple of years,” Milano shared. “The pandemic sort of put everything on hold, but we’re hopeful that before I’m in my 70s, we’ll be able to,"
The hit primetime show starred Milano alongside Tony Danza as former baseball pro Tony Micelli, who takes a job as a housekeeper and moves in to a divorced businesswomen's (Judith Light) home with his young daughter (Milano).
As OK! exclusively reported, after Sony Pictures Television announced in August 2020 that the sitcom would be revisited with the two original cast members in a show that "will explore generational differences, as well as opposing worldviews and parenting styles within the dynamic of a modern family in 2020," development went to "shambles."

“Tony is complaining that his character, who of course is now retired, is boring," a source dished of Danza, "and Alyssa’s A-list requests, like a luxury trailer and personal chef, are causing a headache for production.”
Another hurdle for the show to overcome was that some of the other beloved actors from the original series would not return. Katherine Helmond — who starred as Mona Robinson — passed away in 2019. Meanwhile, Danny Pintauro, who played Jonathan Bower, and Judith Light, who played Angela Bower, made the decision not to return.
"It just doesn’t seem like people are excited about it,” the insider explained of the uncertain project that the Taxi star, 70, has reportedly constantly complained about.
“It doesn’t bode well," added the source close to the creative team. "Nobody would be surprised if the whole thing falls apart!”
