"I was walking with Johnny and congratulating him that they pulled it off," Wright, who served as best man at the ceremony, testified adding that Depp then said: "We're married now. I can punch her in the face and nobody can do anything about it."
Wright made the shocking accusation in a prerecorded testimony that was played for a Virginia courtroom, as Depp and Heard continue to battle it out after the Pirates of the Caribbean actor sued his ex for $50 million over the 2018 op-ed she penned in which she claimed to be a victim of domestic abuse.
Though the piece did not include Depp's name, he accused Heard of ruining his reputation and Hollywood career by insinuating he abused her during their tumultuous relationship.

Wright's testimony was played after Heard's time on the stand, with Depp's lawyer Camille Vasquez relentlessly grilling the actress about her allegations. The author also noted his friendship with Heard began in 2011 and ended about a year ago.
Wright grew close to Heard's boyfriend at the time and even lived at one of Depp's homes for almost a year. During his testimony, Wright claimed he would sometimes be called to come help the two mediate heated arguments. He also dubbed Depp "misogynistic and cruel" when under the influence of alcohol and cocaine.

"He said at one point, something to the effect of: 'I already have a mom who is a bitch to me. I don't need another one in my life,'" Wright reportedly alleged of what Depp said during one squabble.
Though he pointed out Depp and Heard used to argue, confirming he's witnessed his fair share of intense fights between the former couple, Wright maintained he never saw either partner get physically violent.
Meanwhile, Wright also emphasized Depp wasn't the only one with unkind words for his former spouse, saying Heard "called him old and he calls her soon-to-be ugly and talentless, and then they get really ugly with each other."
