'I Don't Really Have Any Answers': 'Bachelor In Paradise' Alum Carly Waddell Gives Update Following Hospitalization
Bachelor in Paradise alum Carly Waddell has given a health update after she was rushed to the hospital on Monday, June 14.
Waddell explained that she started having "really bad intestinal cramps" while waiting to board a flight, but attributed it to something she ate. Ultimately, she began to feel worse once she got on the plane.
"I couldn’t breathe anymore," she explained, noting the cramps felt like contractions. "Then I got super, super hot and super, super nauseous, and I stopped being able to see and I stopped being able to hear."
Waddell said she asked to leave the plane but "passed out" when she tried to stand up. The fire department on board helped treat her.
"I can’t even explain to you how sick I felt," Waddell said. "Everything was hurting."
She was taken to hospital, where her condition worsened. "I probably threw up 20 times," she explained. "I was so dehydrated somehow that they couldn’t … they stuck me, I don’t know, 200 times — probably at least 20. … They couldn’t get blood out for forever."
"They said it was probably a virus or bacteria that just got me and got me really good," Waddell said, adding she also had low blood pressure and a "super high" white blood cell count.

"I don’t really have any answers. I just was, like, really down for the count. The only thing that really helped was fluid and time," Waddell shared. She admitted that she is still having "really bad intestinal cramps" but "they’re not like they were."
Fans and friends took to the comments to send well wishes to the reality star.
"Omg jesusssss! Glad you’re okay! That’s so scary!!" realtor Caroline Lunny wrote.
"Sending prayers for your healing ❤️❤️," one fan said.
Waddell's ex Evan Bass initially revealed that she had been taken to the hospital and gave updates on her condition.
"Thanks for all the prayers and support," the 38-year-old shared at the time. "After 9 hours we left the hospital but she's still in pretty rough shape and may have to go back. Continued thoughts and prayers are so appreciated. And she knows she's beloved."
"I know y'all wanna know what's going on but it's her health and story to tell if she wants to share. (I did get her permission to share [the] photo from earlier so you can relax Jan from Wisconsin)," Bass added. "In all the madness, she lost her phone and really needs to rest so it might be a bit."
Waddell and Bass met on Bachelor in Paradise in 2016 and tied the knot a year later in Mexico before announcing their split in December. They share children daughter Bella, 3, and Charlie, 19 months.
