Michelle and Barack Obama shared a cute moment together when they celebrated National Book Lovers Day on Sunday, August 9.

The former president, 65, and the ex-first lady, 62, discussed their favorite books in a clip shared on Instagram, where they couldn't help but get a little flirty with each other.

Michelle and Barack Obama revealed their favorite books to read in a new Instagram clip.

Michelle and Barack were asked what their most treasured books were, with the politician instantly saying his wife's memoir, Becoming, was his favorite.

The couple then broke down in laughter as Michelle lightly placed her hand on her husband's arm.

Barack and Michelle Obama held on tightly to each other in the video.

"That was easy," Barack quipped, with the attorney chiming in to say Toni Morrison's 1977 story Song of Solomon was her most beloved novel.

"Happy National Book Lovers Day! Song of Solomon by Toni Morrison is one of Barack’s and my favorite books," Michelle penned in the caption of her social media video.

'Obama is so smooth. He’s always trying to butter up Michelle,' a fan gushed.

"He recently caught me by surprise sharing his new favorite book at the @ChicagoPublicLibrary branch at the Obama Presidential Center," she concluded.

Fans gushed over the couple's playful nature and took to the comments section to express their joy over the pair.

"Obama is so smooth. He’s always trying to butter up Michelle," someone joked, with another user interjecting: "I'm sorry, you can’t fake this. I admire their relationship! The way she holds his arm and draws herself into him and laughing at his joke is so loving."

"May this love hit me like a train," a user raved, while one person added: "They are SOOOOOOO CUTE!!!!!"

Michelle further showed her love to Barack on his 65th birthday on August 4. The author shared a love-up snapshot of the two on social media at the time where they stood close together and smiled.

"Happy birthday, @BarackObama! 65 never looked better. Every day, you make me a better person, and I’m thankful for all the ways you show up for our family and our country. Love you," Michelle captioned the image of the duo.

Barack and Michelle Obama Previously Denied Split Rumors

Barack and Michelle Obama laughed off divorce rumors last year.

The Chicago native and the former Illinois senator married in 1992 after meeting at a law office, later welcoming daughters, Malia, 28, and Sasha, 25.

Barack and The Light We Carry memoirist squashed divorce rumors during a July 2025 interview on her "IMO" podcast alongside her brother, Craig Robinson.

"Wait, you guys like each other?" Craig laughed, with Michelle responding: "Oh yeah, the rumor mill."

"She took me back. It was touch and go for a while," Barack said.

"It's so nice to have you both in the same room together," Craig continued.

"I know, 'cause when we aren't, folks think we're divorced," Michelle went on.
