Zahara Jolie-Pitt moved closer to dropping "Pitt" from her name.
The 21-year-old filed a petition in June to legally change her name from Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt to Zahara Marley Jolie.
Court documents obtained by TMZ showed that she completed California's publication requirement by running a notice in the Los Angeles Daily Journal once a week for four consecutive weeks.
The notice appeared on June 16, June 23, June 30, and July 7. However, Zahara's next step is a September 28 hearing, when a judge can approve the request if no one objects.

Zahara Jolie-Pitt's move echoed a similar decision by her sister, who dropped Brad Pitt's surname from her's in 2024.
Zahara's legal move follows a similar path taken by her sister, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, who went through the same process in 2024.
Other children of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have also stopped publicly using the surname.
Maddox Jolie-Pitt and Vivienne Jolie-Pitt have used versions of their names without "Pitt" in recent years.

Based on court documents obtained by TMZ in June, the vodka company claimed Brad's legal team issued a subpoena to a bank in December 2025 as part of Stoli's bankruptcy case in Texas.
The request sought emails between the bank and Stoli, along with information about Vladimir Putin, Russia, and Stoli's Russian assets.
Stoli has been involved in Brad and Angelina's legal battle over Château Miraval. The former couple bought the French winery during their marriage, and Angelina later sold her stake to Stoli after their divorce.
Brad has argued that Angelina needed his approval to sell, a claim she disputes.
A source close to Brad offered a different view of the dispute, saying Angelina and Stoli have also failed to share documents related to their deal.
The source added that the issue stemmed from a lack of communication between their former and current attorneys, noting that other lawyers were already aware of the request.
