Chrissy Metz flexed her biceps following her GLP-1 reveal.

Metz revealed on August 10 that she was partnering with the healthcare company Ro to take GLP-1 medication after previously being skeptical of the idea. She initially started the injection to help with obesity-related complications, which ran in her family.

"I’m not getting any younger,” she told People. “I’m in perimenopause, and there were obesity issues within my family and with my father, and I felt like I’ve tried so many modalities, whether it was diets or therapy, and none of it really worked for me."

The This Is Us alum claimed she was already seeing progress at the doctor's office and in the gym, but gave her followers an exclusive "progress report" on Monday.

“She’s making progress. We like progress," she quipped. "That’s my progress report.”

Chrissy Metz said she's been combining weight loss medication with exercise.

While announcing her GLP-1 use, Metz clarified that the injection was not a "magic wand" and divulged the workout routine that has allowed her to drop some weight.

"I know it’s not a magic wand, and I need to change other things, so I’ve been working with a trainer, and I’m lifting and putting on muscle, and it’s really about how comfortable I am, and learning what I’m capable of, so I really try not to have a number," she said of her weight loss journey. "I just want to feel strong and not have my morning ruined because I stepped on a scale and I’m several pounds above what I think I should be."

Her fitness routine and new medication have allowed the actress to "put [herself] first."

Chrissy Metz explained that GLP-1s silenced her 'food noise.'

Not only has Metz felt herself getting stronger, but she has also noticed some positive effects of the latest weight-loss trend that she was not expecting.

"I’ve enjoyed the benefits that I didn’t think would come, because I was very skeptical," she explained. "I was like, ‘I’m not taking this medication. I don’t wanna do this. It’s not gonna work for me.’ You know, all the things."

"But when I realized food noise was really a thing," she added. "That consumed a lot of my headspace, I was like, ‘Oh.’"

Chrissy Metz lost 100 pounds last year.

In 2025, Metz revealed that she lost 100 pounds without the help of weight loss medication. She told the Daily Mail at the time that she had "always" enjoyed lifting weights.

"I've always enjoyed lifting weights," she said. "I don't want to run unless I'm being chased."

Even before beginning her GLP-1 journey, Metz admitted that she valued building muscle and being "strong."

"I want to age the best way that I can, and I want to be strong. And that's really the impetus behind any of it," the actress continued. "I'm literally doing it because I am nervous about aging, about osteoporosis or arthritis, you know, and because they are now discovering so much about health overall [and] it's really about being and staying strong and flexible."
