DHS Slams Rosie O’Donnell’s ‘Disgusting’ ICE Claims Amid Surge in Threats to Officers

The Department of Homeland Security is pushing back hard against Rosie O’Donnell after the comedian made a series of explosive claims about ICE detention facilities.

O’Donnell, a longtime critic of President Donald Trump, addressed immigration enforcement in a recent TikTok titled “Friday Ramble,” where she compared ICE facilities to concentration camps and questioned what happens to women and children in detention.

DHS strongly rejected the actress’ claims, accusing her of spreading false information that it says is contributing to a surge in threats against immigration officers.

“These disgusting, reckless and categorically FALSE smears are directly contributing to our officers facing a 1,300% increase in assaults, a 3,300% increase in vehicular attacks and an 8,000% increase in death threats against them,” a DHS spokesperson told Fox News Digital.

The department also rejected O’Donnell’s comparison between immigration detention facilities and World War II internment camps.

“Moreover, comparisons of illegal alien detention centers to internment camps used during World War II are deranged and lazy,” the spokesperson said.

DHS further disputed the host’s claims about conditions inside ICE facilities, saying, “Claims that there are subprime conditions at ICE detention centers are FALSE.”

“All detainees are provided with three meals a day, clean water, clothing, bedding, showers, soap and toiletries,” the spokesperson said, adding, “Illegal aliens also have access to phones to communicate with their family members and lawyers. Certified dieticians evaluate meals.”

The department also addressed the former The View host’s claims about pregnant women in detention.

“Pregnancy in ICE detention is exceedingly rare, making up 0.15% of all illegal aliens currently in custody, as of June 30,” the DHS spokesperson said.

"Pregnant women receive regular prenatal visits, mental health services, nutritional support and accommodations aligned with community standards of care. In addition to medical, mental health and dental services provided to all detained women as required by ICE detention standards, facilities provide women with pregnancy services such as pregnancy testing, routine or specialized prenatal care, postpartum follow-up and nursing services," the statement continued.

O’Donnell has a long history of criticizing Trump and ICE. In July 2025, she compared ICE to N--- Germany, calling it the president’s “own personal Gestapo.”

During her latest rant, she also attacked Trump personally, saying, “He doesn’t care about you one bit. This is not a president for all people. This is a president for people like him.”

She then offered a very different idea of who should be running the country.

“We need people like Dolly Parton to run the world,” the television personality said, adding, “People with a heart.”

DHS, however, maintained that ICE officers are focused on law enforcement and public safety, stating that “nearly 70% of ICE arrests are of illegal aliens charged or convicted of a crime in the U.S.”

The spokesperson concluded, “Our agents are focused on protecting the American people — not entertaining performative outrage.”
