Donald Trump Begs Longtime Enemy JB Pritzker to Call Him at 3:45 A.M. in Bonkers Truth Social Rant

President Donald Trump posted a Truth Social rant against Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker at 3:45 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1, demanding Pritzker call him immediately to authorize federal military intervention.

Trump, who was caught nodding off during an Oval Office event on Monday, highlighted recent weekend gun violence statistics in Chicago and warned the city would crumble if local leadership did not invite the federal government in to intervene.

“Chicago violence is unchecked and at record levels. It has never been worse! This weekend 41 people were shot, 3 DEAD... The city will die if the Federal Government, a fine-tuned crime-fighting machine, is not invited in by the Mayor or Governor to HELP,” Trump ranted.

However, crime in Chicago is down about 9 percent compared to the same time last year.

He capped off his message by aggressively urging his political opponent, "Governor Pritzker, CALL!!!"

The early-morning broadside marks the latest clash in a long-standing public feud between the two leaders. It appears to be a direct retaliation for comments made by Gov. Pritzker just a day prior.

On Monday, August 31, Pritzker released a scathing statement ahead of Trump’s planned late-September visit to the Chicago area for the PGA Tour's Presidents Cup at Medinah Country Club.

Pritzker declared that Trump is "neither wanted here nor needed here," and challenged him to "leave the country club and explain to Illinoisans why his tariffs have made groceries, electricity, and everything else too d----- expensive."

This is the second major time in recent months that Trump has publicly pressured Pritzker to request National Guard or military support.

Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson have repeatedly rejected these offers, calling federal troop deployment "illegal, unconstitutional, and un-American," opting instead to work directly with specific federal agencies like the FBI, DEA and ATF.

Pritzker posted a viral meme on X on Thursday, August 27, mockingly declaring that Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago had been renamed "Natalie Tower."

The joke was a direct satirical response to Trump's executive order earlier that day, which unilaterally declared that Lake Ontario would be renamed "Lake America” and a nod to the president’s ubiquitous 35-year-old aide, Natalie Harp.

Playing by those same logical rules, Pritzker decided that if Trump could declare a major natural landmark renamed "effective immediately," then a governor could do the same to a piece of real estate.

Echoing the strict, formal phrasing of the White House announcement, Pritzker captioned the photo: “EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY: Trump Tower is renamed to NATALIE TOWER!”

The Illinois governor and potential 2028 Democratic presidential hopeful has previously blown off Trump’s intervention in his state.

In June, Pritzker said, "This is the president that thought that he could hire an unqualified company to paint the Reflecting Pool, and then thought that it would just be free of algae. This is the same president that did not know that the Strait of Hormuz could be closed, shuttered essentially, by Iran if he went to war with Iran.”

“I don’t think that we should be listening to this president about promises that he makes or that he has any idea how to protect us in the state of Illinois,” he added.
