Musgraves kicked off her Middle of Nowhere tour last Friday, August 21, at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. The day also marked the singer's 38th birthday.
As part of her birthday wish, she appealed to the concertgoers to help children who have been separated from their families after their parents were deported from the United States due to ICE enforcement.
People advised Kacey Musgraves to 'shut up and sing' after her appeal.
While her appeal was met with roaring applause during the concert, people who watched her request online were less than forgiving.

Musgraves paused her concert midway to encourage fans to support a humanitarian cause by donating to the Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights.
“It’s a wonderful organization, and they help give aid — legal aid — and money to children whose parents have been deported unfairly,” she said.
“It’s not a political thing. It’s just, these kids need help,” she added.

Kacey Musgraves said fans donating to the fund to help immigrant children will mean a lot to her.
“They have no guidance and no way to get through this thing without their home base or their parents. So anyway, 50 cents, whatever the h---, I don’t know, whatever you want to do, but that would mean a lot to me,” she continued.
“If you don’t want to, that’s totally fine too,” she remarked.
Fans cheered her on at the concert for speaking up on such a sensitive issue while the government continues to crack down on families they deem “illegal aliens,” regardless of their age.

Tomi Lahren slammed Kacey Musgraves for saying the parents of immigrant children were 'unfairly deported.'
Videos from her concert quickly went viral online, and many people decided to chime in with their opinions on the subject.
Tomi Lahren, host of Outkick’s “Tomi Lahren is Fearless” podcast, hit back at the Grammy-winning singer on X by reposting a video of her appeal.
“What is an unfair deportation?” she wrote in the caption.
One X user said they will be boycotting Kacey Musgraves for her concert appeal.
“Kacey Musgraves stopped her concert to ask the audience to donate money for legal aid to kids whose parents have been deported ‘unfairly.’ How about donating money to help kids whose parents have been killed by illegal immigrants! What happened to the country music industry?” Vince Langman noted while reposting the video.
“How about donating to the parents of children raped/murder/trafficked by illegals who should be deported?!,” an X user piped in.
“You just earned yourself a big ol’ boycott, you traitor,” another person wrote.
“Illegal aliens and their kids don’t deserve our patronage and neither do you!” they added.
