Dylan Sprouse's 2018 Jared Leto Tweet Resurfaces Amid New Sexual Assault Allegations: What to Know So Far

Dylan Sprouse was among the few public figures to openly condemn Jared Leto.

The actor-musician has faced controversies spanning more than two decades, with multiple women accusing him of sexual misconduct. Ten women also shared their accounts in the new BBC documentary, Jared Leto: Hollywood's Dark Secret, which aired on July 29.

Following the new allegations, Sprouse's 2018 tweet about Leto resurfaced and drew renewed attention.

In May 2018, Sprouse lambasted Leto in a tweet that remains visible on his X account.

The Suite Life of Zack & Cody star wrote, "Yo @JaredLeto now that you've slid into the dm's of every female model aged 18-25, what would you say your success rate is?"

Sprouse was already dating his now-wife, Barbara Palvin, at the time.

Filmmaker James Gunn joined the conversation, asking, "He starts at 18 on the Internet?"

The Guardians of the Galaxy director later deleted the comment, though he omitted Leto's character, the Joker, from the 2016 film The Suicide Squad and criticized Thirty Seconds to Mars in the Season 2 premiere of Peacemaker.

The New York Post published a 2005 column suggesting that Leto was spotted "squiring" Ashley Olsen and Lindsay Lohan "around the town" while "aggressively pursuing many of the teen models shacked up at the Maritime Hotel."

"He's been approaching all the girls and inviting them to his shows," said one source. "Girls from IMG, Elite, Next and Women are staying there, and Jared has been hitting on all of them. He's a serial texter. He is constantly texting these other 16- and 17-year-old girls. It's really kind of creepy."

Two decades later, Air Mail claimed the Fight Club actor engaged in a longstanding pattern of inappropriate behavior toward the nine accusers. One woman alleged it had been "an open secret for a long time."

In response, a representative said the Thirty Seconds to Mars founder "expressly" denied all allegations.

As OK! reported, the BBC documentary Jared Leto: Hollywood's Dark Secret featured allegations from 10 women who accused Leto of criminal sexual conduct that allegedly occurred between 2002 and 2016. Nine spoke publicly for the first time, while four alleged that the incidents occurred when they were teenagers.

One of the women also said, "This was 25 years ago… he has gotten away with it."

The Chapter 27 star denied all accusations in a statement obtained by Entertainment Weekly, which read, "I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life. These claims are absolutely and categorically false."
