Eva Mendes opened up about the meaningful tattoo on her wrist honoring her husband, Ryan Gosling.
"It’s the only one I have, the only one I’ve ever wanted," Mendes, 52, wrote in response to a fan who praised her body art in the comments on a Sunday, August 30, Instagram carousel post.

Eva Mendes Showed Off Her Meaningful Wrist Tattoo
Eva Mendes showed off her 'de Gosling' tattoo that sparked marriage speculation.
The tattoo was visible as Mendes posed from the back seat of a car in the black-and-white photos. The design features the words "de Gosling" across her wrist, a phrase that translates to "of Gosling" in Hispanic culture.
Mendes, who has Cuban-American heritage, first showed the tattoo through an Instagram post back in September 2022. She did not publicly explain its meaning at the time, but the ink quickly fueled speculation about her relationship with the actor.
The couple, who met while filming 2013’s The Place Beyond the Pines, were already parents to two daughters, Esmeralda, 11, and Amada, 10.
The Tattoo Sparked Marriage Speculation
Eva Mendes referred to Ryan Gosling as her husband while discussing their family's time during her interview.
During a November 2022 interview with Australia’s Today show, Mendes referred to Gosling while discussing his time filming The Fall Guy.
"Everybody is amazing, everybody is welcoming us, it’s been so beautiful. My husband Ryan is here … and our children are here, we’re having the best time," she said.

Eva Mendes opened up about motherhood and her decision to start a family with Ryan Gosling.
Mendes, who stepped back from acting to focus on raising her daughters, previously opened up about motherhood in a 2019 interview with Women's Health Magazine.
"I mean, falling in love with him. Then it made sense for me to have … not kids, but his kids," she said at the time.
"It was very specific to him," she added.
Ryan Gosling Has Celebrated Eva Mendes Too
Ryan Gosling honored his wife and shared a sweet detail about Eva Mendes' longtime love for teachers.
While promoting 2023’s Barbie, the actor wore a necklace featuring an "E" pendant in the film’s signature white-and-pink Barbie font.
When Entertainment Tonight asked him about the letter, he said it was "Eva."
The couple also shared a more public moment earlier this year when Gosling appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. During the appearance shared on the official Instagram site, he brought Mendes onstage for a surprise birthday celebration.
Gosling told the audience about Mendes' affection for teachers and revealed something she had kept from childhood.
"You have no idea how much she loves teachers. Loves you so much. She has her hall monitor sash still from when she was a kid. She hangs it proudly in the house," he said.
