Jason Derulo Splits From Girlfriend Jena Frumes, Feels Time Apart Will 'Allow Us To Be The Best Versions Of Ourselves'
Jason Derulo is "Ridin Solo" once again after splitting with girlfriend of more than a year Jena Frumes.
The Cats actor took to Twitter on Thursday, September 23, to reveal, "Jena and I have decided to part ways. She is an amazing mother but we feel being apart at this time will allow us to be the best versions of ourselves and the best parents we could be. Pls respect our privacy in this time."
Back in May, the former couple welcomed a son together, Jason King Derulo. He is the first child for them both.
Only days before, the two, who share the same birthday, appeared to be blissfully in love. Fumes wrote on Instagram along with a sweet photo of them together (which has now been removed), "Happy birthday @jasonderulo ! Blessed to share the same day of birth with my lover. You are the most handsome, hardworking, talented, silly, loving human ever."
"You truly make me whole and I’m so grateful for the love we share. You and our mini make me the happiest girl in the world and I can’t wait to make more memories with you guys. I know I’m a tough cookie but you make me soft and accept me for who I am and I’m forever grateful for that. Cheers to another year! I love you so much, forever," the fitness instructor concluded.

As OK! previously reported, the former couple announced to the world in March that they were expecting their first child together.
The "Savage Love" singer posted an Instagram video as an announcement along with the caption, "Couldn't be more excited for this new chapter in our life @jenafrumes."
The 27-year-old then posted her own picture (now removed) that Frumes simply commented, "Mom & Dad" attached to a picture of Derulo holding her baby bump on the beach.
