Jason Kelce Grimaces at His Beardless Younger Self in Nearly Unrecognizable Throwback Photos: 'I Hate the Way My Face Looks'

Jason Kelce gave fans a rare glimpse at his younger self.

The retired football star, 38, showed off a nearly unrecognizable photo of himself without his signature beard on the Wednesday, September 2, episode of his "New Heights" podcast.

In the image from his college football days at the University of Cincinnati, Kelce posed with a deadpan face looking straight at the camera while wearing a black suit and red tie.

"I just hate the way my face looks without a beard," he admitted to his co-host and brother, Travis Kelce.

His own wife, Kylie Kelce, has even admitted on her "Not Gonna Lie" podcast that she has never seen her husband without his signature facial hair.

"I’ve never met his chin. I’ve never seen his chin in person,” she shared. “We’ve never met. Rumor has it that there’s a little bit of the butt chin under there. I don’t know though; I’ve never met it. That’d be kind of fun to find out.”

Jason also confessed that back in the day, he used to have strange techniques for grooming himself that he has since grown out of for a much more put-together look.

"That was back when I used to just take my razor, and that’s how I trim my eyebrows," he admitted.

“I would just go straight across my eyebrows. So they ended up being super thin and not having any shape,” he added.

Travis couldn't help but laugh at his brother's odd confession, though he would have been none the wiser about his grooming techniques.

"I would've never guessed," he quipped. "But they are definitely way thinner than what they are now."

Jason even shared some photos of himself on the field as a college football player, though he was caught off guard by an image of him speaking to his team as they huddled on the turf.

"Is that what I look like when I’m yelling?" he asked. "Is that how it always looks?"

His brother admitted to grooming mishaps of his own, revealing he used to try and get his body hair under control when younger.

He confessed to his brother that he used to shave his chest hair while he played on the football team at the University of Cincinnati, a few years below his brother.

"It grew back so fast," he noted. "I tried to wax it after that."

Waxing evidently did not turn out well for Travis, with the Kansas City Chiefs star noting his whole chest ended up "bloody and patchy."

"So I just gave up," he concluded.
