Jen Shah is taking accountability for the crimes that sent her to prison.
"I was wrong," the former Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star, 52, admitted in an interview published on Wednesday, April 1, nearly four months since she was released from Texas' Federal Prison Camp Bryan in December 2025.
Shah spent two years, nine months and 23 days in jail after being convicted for her role in a telemarketing scheme that defrauded vulnerable and often elderly people across the country.
Jen Shah was released from prison on December 10, 2025.
Jen Shah was sentenced to over six years in prison in 2023.
'I'm Deeply Remorseful'

The former reality star is wearing an ankle monitor.
The disgraced Bravo alum — who was arrested in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 2021 — is currently serving the remainder of her sentence under home confinement, complete with an ankle monitor.
According to federal prosecutors, the mother-of-two was a central figure in the years-long operation that targeted thousands of victims by marketing fraudulent services, such as website design and coaching.
"I made wrong decisions. I should have done things differently," Shah told People. "I should have been more diligent. And I'm deeply remorseful and sorry for my actions and for my part. I take full responsibility."
'I Thought I Was Doing the Right Thing'

The reality star was arrested in 2021.
While prosecutors alleged Shah played an integral role in individuals being repeatedly contacted and pressured into purchasing additional services, she continues to downplay her participation in the scheme.
"Without re-litigating it, I became involved in the case because I made horrible business decisions and I disregarded huge red flags," she said. "I allowed the lines to be blurred between personal friendships and ethical business practices. And in essence, I trusted the wrong people at a very vulnerable time in my life."
"I thought I was doing the right thing for the majority of the time," the ex-reality TV star continued. "I was working under people who were running these companies."

Jen Shah maintains that she thought the companies she was working with were offering legitimate services.
Shah insisted that she believed the companies she worked with were operating legitimately and initially delivering services to customers, which she described as "fulfillment."
"What happened was down the line, people that I worked with were working with a lot of other people," she explained. "Once that initial fulfillment was happening, things were happening beyond the point of sale with that customer that I didn’t know about."
Jen Shah Is 'Committed' to Paying Back What She Owes Her Victims

Jen Shah's sentence was reduced multiple times prior to her release.
Shah previously apologized to the people whose lives she affected and promised to pay them back in a statement following her sentencing in January 2023.
"Jen Shah's resolve to make her victims whole and to turn her life around is unyielding," her attorney, Priya Chaudhry, said at the time. "She is committed to serving her sentence with courage and purpose, fueled by her desire to make amends for the hurt she has caused and to help others in her new community."
Shah owes more than $6.6 million in restitution.
