Jenelle Evans Addresses 'Rumors' Surrounding Husband David Eason's Arrest: 'People Love To Exaggerate Our Life'
Jenelle Evans is setting the record straight regarding her husband’s recent run-in with the law.
Earlier this month, OK! reported the reality star’s husband David Eason was arrested on Friday, November 12, for “driving with a revoked license” and for having an “open container of alcohol.”
Eason — who shares 4-year-old daughter Ensley with the Teen Mom 2 alum — was released from jail on $750 bail and ordered to appear in court in February 2022.
The incident report claimed Eason was using “alcohol” at the time of his arrest, but the couple is now claiming it was all a big understanding.
“Unfortunately, I didn’t want to address this at all, but y’all keep asking about it, so we’re here to explain,” Evans said in a new YouTube video, posted Tuesday, November 23.
In the recent clip, the duo explained Eason’s license was suspended following a speeding ticket he received in July 2020. However, they insisted he was never told about the suspension before his November arrest. (Eason was initially pulled over for “going through a traffic stop.")
“They didn’t send a letter or anything saying that they suspended his license, so he just went about driving every day,” Evans pointed out.

“How many times are they going to suspend my license,” Eason joked in the clip, with Evans chiming in to note her hubby's license has never been suspended for anything “serious.”
The couple went on to address the alleged mixup with the open container in Eason’s car, claiming it was an old can found in his backseat that he meant to throw out earlier. “They saw a can in the backseat. They pulled me out of the car and wanted me to do all these sobriety tests,” he recalled. “They could clearly see that I was not intoxicated.”
Eason remembered taking the breathalyzer test — which he claimed he passed “with flying colors,” as he blew 0.01 into the breathalyzer. However, he maintained he was already charged with a DUI by the time he passed the test.
“So, when you guys look online and it says that I got a DUI, that’s ‘cuz it’s a DUI without probable cause, and that means basically that they dismissed it or disposed of it immediately,” Eason said.
“They took him to jail for driving with no license. It wasn’t even for a DUI in the end," the former MTV star added, "so they could have just gave him a ticket for driving with no license, but instead, they took him all the way to jail."
“Yeah, just wanted to give you guys an update about what’s going on because I know there’s a lot of rumors going around,” Evans concluded. “People like to exaggerate our life.”
“They love to hate us,” she joked at the end of the video.
