Jimmy Fallon mocked President Donald Trump by making a surprise entrance crouched inside a wheeled catering cart to satirize reports of Trump's secret plane swap in Turkey.
When the opening credits concluded on the Tuesday, August 11, broadcast of The Tonight Show, Fallon was nowhere to be seen on stage. Instead, two men dressed as Secret Service agents wheeled out a large container labeled "Catering.”
Fallon emerged from the cart clutching a McDonald's bag and a Diet Coke — two of Trump’s faves — immediately launching into a monologue targeting the security ruse.
Jimmy Fallon Explains Donald Trump's AF1 Escape

Donald Trump secretly evacuated Air Force One on an airport catering truck in Turkey last month.
“Well, guys, I’m not sure if you’ve heard, but it’s being reported that last month, when President Trump left a summit in Turkey, he was facing security threats from Iran,” Fallon explained. “So, he boarded Air Force One, then snuck off the plane and hid in the back of an airport catering truck.”
The comedic bit was a direct response to a meticulous Washington Post report detailing how Trump was secretly snuck off Air Force One in an airport catering truck in Ankara on July 8 to escape a credible Iranian threat, leaving reporters and staffers on the "decoy" plane.

'At least he has one exit plan,' Jimmy Fallon joked.
"At least he has one exit plan," Fallon quipped, in a nod to his refusal to accept election results, leading to the January 6 Capitol insurrection.
Fallon joked that while Trump hid in the catering truck, Secretary of State Marco Rubio "hid in Trump's carry-on bag.”
He further quipped that when the POTUS got out of the vehicle, airport officials complained, "Wait, this catering truck was full when we put him in here.”

'Are We There Yet?'

Jimmy Fallon cracked jokes about Donald Trump weighing down Air Force One.
Alluding to Air Force One flying without Trump, Fallon noted, "Everyone knew Trump was off the plane because it wasn't flying at its normal 45-degree angle. Something’s off. We’re going up.”
The Tonight Show also played a mock audio bit imagining Trump's dialogue with Secret Service agents while crouching inside the food container.
In the bit, Trump was depicted of behaving like an impatient child on a road trip, repeatedly asking: “Are we there yet? Can I eat all these airplane meals? Can we go through the McDonald’s drive-thru?”
'Everyone on That Plane Was a Decoy'

'Everyone on that plane was a decoy,' Democratic strategist David Axelrod told CNN.
Despite the humor and the viral memes that emerged from the situation, experts, including prominent political analyst and Democratic strategist David Axelrod, didn’t find the president’s cowardice the least bit funny.
"If they felt that it was unsafe to be on the plane, then it was unsafe for everybody else to be on the plane as well. So, they at least deserve to know, if not then, then after, why this was happening. Everyone on that plane was a decoy,” he told CNN.
