Joe Biden, 83, Wears Knee Brace While Relaxing in the Backyard With Daughter Ashley Amid His 'Challenging' Cancer Battle: Photo

Cancer-stricken Joe Biden is taking it easy these days, with a new photo showing the former president wearing a knee brace while relaxing with loved ones.

On Wednesday, August 26, his daughter Ashley Biden uploaded a snap to her Instagram Story, showing herself sitting with her dad in a backyard.

Ashley, 45, snapped the selfie in a baseball cap and brown shirt while the politician wore a white polo shirt and blue shorts.

Despite the brace on his left leg, Joe, 83, was all smiles as he held onto his phone.

Ashley had Noah Kahan's "End of August" playing in the background of the upload.

As OK! reported, the former POTUS was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in 2025 that metastasized to his bones, meaning he'll "forever live with cancer," wife Jill Biden, 75, shared.

While appearing on a recent episode of the "Let’s Talk Off Camera With Kelly Ripa" podcast, Jill said her husband was "doing OK."

"We have to be mindful of it every three months, testing and medicines. And anybody who’s gone through this cancer journey — and I’ve been through it many times with members of my family, of course with Beau — it’s constant," she continued, referring to their son who died at age 46 in 2015 from brain cancer. "It’s daily. And I think it’s challenging."

Kelly Ripa, 55, defended the former teacher against allegations she was "covering up" Joe's diagnosis while he was still president, explaining her father also dealt with prostate cancer.

"When people were like, ‘There’s no way you can’t know,’ oh, yes, there is. Because they don’t test men over 70 years old for prostate cancer," the talk show host pointed out. "So it can be living there for all of those years, growing slowly, and eventually metastasize."

While Jill appeared to downplay Joe's symptoms, son Hunter Biden painted a different picture.

While speaking with the BBC on August 7, the artist, 56, said the disease is "very painful and it’s very debilitating in many respects.”

"It’s really sad to watch," he confessed. "The only thing that I’d say about my dad, about his health right now, is I wish he would complain more, because it’s not good."
