Hunter Biden shared an update on his father Joe Biden's stage four prostate cancer battle.
The 56-year-old former attorney told the BBC on Friday, August 7, his father's cancer has spread to his bones and to other parts of his body.
Hunter Biden Shared His Father's Cancer Spread to His Bones
Joe Biden was diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer in 2025.
“The cancer has spread, metastasized into his bones and further,” Hunter said about the former president's wellness. “It’s very painful and it’s very debilitating in many respects.”
“It’s really sad to watch,” Hunter sighed. “The only thing that I’d say about my dad, about his health right now, is I wish he would complain more, because it’s not good.”
Joe Biden Announced His Cancer Diagnosis in May 2025
'The cancer has spread, metastasized into his bones and further,' Hunter Biden said about his father's illness.
Joe, 83, announced in May 2025 he was diagnosed with prostate cancer after experiencing urinary symptoms. Despite his illness, Hunter stated his dad is “still out there" and "is still doing his thing."
"He so believes in this country," the artist added.
Jill Biden also discussed her husband's health problems during an interview with Kelly Ripa earlier this month. The former teacher, 75, told the talk show host, 55, she noticed Joe using the bathroom as many as “seven times a night.”
This caused concern and she alerted White House physicians at the time, and said she “thought it was addressed.”

Jill Biden Urged Joe Biden to Get His Body Checked Out Once They Left the White House
Jill Biden recalled noticing Joe using the bathroom very frequently before he went to the doctor to get checked out.
Once the Biden's left the presidency in January 2025, Jill persuaded Joe to go to a doctor to get the issue checked out.
"They were following the American Urological Association guidelines. And so they didn’t give him the PSA test, the blood test. But when it continued when we got out of the White House, I said, ‘Joe, we’ve got to go up to Jeff in Philly – something’s wrong.'" Jill said.
Physicians later found a nodule on Joe's prostate.
Jill Biden Previously Said Doctors 'Assured Us He Was Healthy'
Physicians discovered a nodule on Joe Biden's prostate last year.
In June, Jill spoke with Craig Melvin during an airing of the Today show where she promoted her new memoir, View From the West Wing.
During the chat, the educator discussed the ex-Delaware senator's well-being and claimed doctors "assured us he was healthy."
“And I saw him doing the job every single day. Every single day, he got up, he went into the office, he did the job, he passed bipartisan legislation," Jill told the NBC anchorman, 47.
"I saw him work hours into the night. Yes, I did see him slowing down a little bit when he got tired. Did he stutter a little bit at night? Yeah, sure, but he was still doing the job, and he was doing a good job," she continued.
