Amber Heard is giving insight into her tumultuous marriage to Johnny Depp.

At one point, she claimed Depp "slapped" her across the face. "I thought, 'This must be a joke' because I didn't know what was going on, just laughing still. I thought he would tell me it's a joke, but he didn't. You think you're funny b**ch? He slapped me again. It was clear it wasn't a joke anymore and I stopped laughing, but I didn't know what else to do. I didn't know what to do — I, as a woman, had never been hit like that. I'm an adult, and I am sitting next to the man I love, and I missed the point. Second slap: I know he's not kidding, so I just stared at him. I didn't say anything, I didn't react, move, freak out. I just started at him because I didn't know what else to do. He slaps me one more time — hard."

"I am all the sudden realizing that the worst thing just happened to me. I realized, 'I wish so much he said he was joking.' It didn't physically hurt me, I was just sitting there on this carpet, looking at the dirty carpet how I wound up on this carpet. I didn't know what to do, I didn't know how to react. I just sat there thinking, 'God, did he just hit me?' No, I didn't want to leave him. I didn't want to have the man I was in love with. I know you don't come back from that. I know you can't hit a woman, you can't hit anyone, you can't just hit somebody — I knew it was wrong, and I knew I had to leave him," she continued. "I wish I could say I walked out of that house and I stuck up for myself, but I was just looking at the dirty carpet, trying to walk out the door because I knew I needed to, and I really slowly stood up, and I remember looking at him in the eye because I didn't know what else to do. Before I know it, he starts crying. I have never seen an adult man cry."

"He grabs my hands, and he is saying to me, 'I will never do that again. I am so sorry, baby. I put the f**ker away. I thought I put the monster away, it's done,'" she recalled of the situation. "I didn't have words, I didn't know what to say. I just remember thinking, he was crying. I knew I couldn't forgive him, it means it will happen again."

"I was heartbroken," she said, admitting that she drove home.

After the ordeal, Heard said Depp reached out to her to talk. "He told me he had put this thing away and that I could trust him. Of course it would never happen again. He killed the f**ker is what he said to me over and over again. I killed that monster, I will kill it again, it's done. I wanted to believe him, so I chose to," she said. "I believed there was a line he wouldn't cross again and that was it."

The blonde babe said Depp started drinking again and would disappear again but would come back in the middle of the night. "I didn't text him back right away — this is when I was at my class in Orange. Sometimes he would show up to catch me. By the time he was done talking, I convinced him that I loved him, that I only loved him, that there was no one else and it would go back to sick, romantic love, kind, sweet, velvety love, and then it would be something I said. If I had to leave for an audition and when I came back, he was angry at me, and I wouldn't necessarily know why."

Depp would also claim that Heard was cheating on her. "It would escalate, he would shove me down. This happened several times," she said. "I made a point of getting up, looking him in the eye, it was my way of defending myself at the time. I would look at him, and he would shove me back down, hit me. He hit me the face when I denied having an affair with my ex-partner at the time. He slapped me across the face. I said, 'Johnny, you hit me.'"

Depp would also "scream at" Heard on multiple occasions. "I had to defend myself so he didn't think these things were true. He would shift accusations. Nothing I could do to calm him down — I would walk away and that would make it worse," she said. "He would grab me by the hair, the arm. He would smash things around me, very close to me. He would hit me, and it started with slapping and it got to be repetitive slaps where he would hold me in a position and slap me multiple times in a row. Eventually, I would push him off of me."

She said Depp would always come back, claiming he was sober, but she would see him drinking again. "Johnny on speed is very different from Johnny on opiates," she said. "Very different from cocaine Johnny. I had to get used to paying attention to the different versions of him. In 2012, I was just learning that drinking correlated with the violence."
