Trouble At Home! Dad Duties Putting 'Major' Strain On Justin Timberlake's Marriage To Jessica Biel

The tables have turned for Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake, and according to an insider, the singer isn't too happy about it.

For years, Biel, 40, put her career on the back burner so she could spend more time with the couple's two children Silas, 7, and Phineas, who turns 2 in July. But with all the buzz surrounding her new Hulu miniseries, Candy, which premieres May 9, the star is back in the spotlight, leaving Timberlake, 41, to pick up the slack at home.

“Jessica is busy with Candy and Justin’s been on daddy day-care duty at their place in Montana,” explains the insider. “He is not thrilled about it.”

At first, it seemed like a great idea to help restore the balance in their nearly 10-year marriage — but the insider says Timberlake is in over his head. “He was initially all gung-ho, but that’s because he didn’t know how hard it was going to be,” dishes the insider. “Now it’s putting major strain on their relationship because he’s just not handling the stress well.”

While Timberlake is a great dad, “he’s used to Jessica doing all the hard work when it comes to keeping things running at home,” continues the insider. “Now he’s forced to admit he just can’t fill her shoes.”

It’s not the first time the pair have hit a rough patch. As OK! previously reported, Biel is still dealing with trust issues over a 2019 incident in which Timberlake was caught on camera holding hands with his Palmer costar, Alisha Wainwright, at a cast party in New Orleans.

“They’ve both put a lot of work into the healing process,” noted a source, “but it’s fair to say that Jessica isn’t completely past what happened.”

At this point, they’re practically living separate lives. “The long-distance situation isn’t helping things,” says the insider, adding that they are constantly arguing. “Jessica seems like she’s at the end of her rope with Justin right now. But they’ve been through a lot worse, so once things quiet down for Jessica, they’ll be able to get back on track — at least that’s what everyone is hoping.”
