Love is a wild thing!
Kacey Musgraves and Cole Schafer have been dating for less than a year, but an insider says he’s eager to pop the question — and is just waiting for a signal that she’s ready.
Ever since Musgraves, 33, went public with her poet beau, 28, last June, “Cole’s been wrapped around her little finger, and he’s made it clear he wants to put a ring on it,” dishes the insider.
The singer, who split from ex-hubby Ruston Kelly in 2020 after nearly four years of marriage, “has been a little hesitant to get engaged because she only just got divorced. But what she has with Cole is the real deal, and she can see herself married to this guy,” shares the insider.
“I feel really lucky to be with someone who is so secure and is a champion of me reaching for every star possible,” Musgraves gushed about Schafer this month.

A proposal could come any day now that Musgraves wrapped up her Star-Crossed: Unveiled tour. “Cole is just waiting for the word that she’s up for it,” the insider says. “Rest assured, he’ll be down on one knee in a heartbeat.”
As OK! previously reported, the "Space Cowboy" singer admitted that her past marriage to the "Mockingbird" crooner left her feeling "lonely" and "broken."
"I could have coasted for another couple of years, just not paying attention to my feelings or not really dealing with some things," Musgraves told Elle Magazine last year. "How did I get here? How can I prevent myself from getting there again? Why do I keep choosing the same kind of people?"
"I felt, in many ways, on top of the world in my career, but in my personal life, I felt like I was dying inside,” she candidly admitted to the outlet. "I was crumbling. I was sad."
However, the "Justified" singer felt that lingering in an unhappy marriage was not an option, confessing: "There’s nothing more shameful than staying somewhere where you don’t fit anymore."
