The eldest granddaughter of Donald Trump has been sharing glimpses of her transition to college as she settles into life at the University of Miami and continues pursuing golf.
Not long ago, Kai got emotional while preparing to leave her family home and start the next phase of her life.
"I've been like, literally sobbing," the 19-year-old said in a vlog posted to her YouTube channel on Saturday, August 29. "It's just like really sad that I have to say goodbye to like everyone today. I'm not like a very emotional person at all."
The incoming freshman documented the hectic days leading up to her move from her home in Jupiter, Fla., to her new apartment in South Beach.
Kai admitted that getting that emotional felt "really weird" for her, saying she has only experienced that level of emotion a "few times."
"I think knowing I have to say goodbye to everyone tonight. It like really, really sucks," she explained. "I don't have to say goodbye to my mom tomorrow, but everything else is sad. I'm just struggling right now. Just like thinking about it, but I'm excited. It's just like I'm emotional."

Although the school is only a short drive from her family's home, starting college has come with an especially emotional backdrop for the teenager.
Her mother, Vanessa, revealed a cancer diagnosis just weeks before Kai's high school graduation.
"I wanted to share a personal health update. I’ve recently been diagnosed with b----- cancer. While this isn’t news anyone expects, I’m working closely with my medical team on a treatment plan,” the New York native, 48, wrote in a post shared via Instagram on May 20.
