Kai Trump opened up about the emotional aftermath of her mom Vanessa's cancer diagnosis.

Kai Trump shared that her mother Vanessa Trump’s b----- cancer diagnosis altered their summer plans by giving them the unexpected opportunity to spend considerably more time together before the 19-year-old left for college.
In an interview with Fox News Digital from the University of Miami, the competitive golfer described the extra hours at home as a "blessing in disguise.”
The college freshman said she traded some of her usual hours on the course to remain home, allowing mother and daughter to bond and share extra hours throughout the day.
'It Was Nice to Spend Those Extra Hours With Her'

Kai Trump is the eldest daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and his ex-wife, Vanessa Trump.
"I was able to spend extra time with her that I would normally probably spend on the golf course,” Kai said. “It was nice to spend those extra hours with her throughout the day before going to college.”
Kai recalled "a lot of crying" together during car rides in the week leading up to her college move-in.
"We would just be driving, and then we'd just start crying together,” she confessed.
Kai Trump Says Mom Vanessa Is 'Doing a Lot Better'

Vanessa Trump revealed her cancer diagnosis to the public in May.
Vanessa, 48, publicly revealed her b----- cancer diagnosis in May.
She underwent surgery in June and subsequently advanced to the second stage of her treatment plan, which included radiation.
Kai noted that while the radiation treatments initially made her mother feel unwell and fatigued, Vanessa is a "fighter" and is now "doing a lot better.”

'She Wasn't Feeling Very Good'

Kai Trump said her mom 'wasn't feeling very good' after her cancer treatment.
“My mom, she’s doing a lot better,” Kai said. “Kind of after treatment, she wasn’t feeling very good. Just like how treatment will make you feel … but she’s getting a lot better now.”
Immediately after completing his treatment program in June, Vanessa’s boyfriend, golf great Tiger Woods, flew straight back to Jupiter, Fla., to permanently reunite with her.
Insiders report they remained in constant contact while he was away and that he is focusing heavily on being an important source of stability for her.
'She Would Be Here in a Heartbeat'

Kai Trump is attending the University of Miami to compete on the women's golf team.
Woods also made a public appearance to support Kai at her high school graduation ceremony. Sources close to the family state that he remains "fully integrated" into her children's lives, further strengthening their bond during her ongoing recovery.
Being enrolled at the University of Miami keeps Kai relatively close to home, which she noted has made the milestone transition easier on their family.
“I know if I called her at a random time she would be here in a heartbeat,” the teenager said. “So it’s very sweet, but I’m looking forward to the next chapter. And yeah, I mean, she’s very excited for me as well.”
