Kai Trump is soaking up the last moments with her mother, Vanessa Trump, as she starts her first year at the University of Miami.

"Back-to-school shopping with Mom!" Kai, 19, captioned an Instagram Reel on Sunday, August 30. "We spent HOURS shopping for everything I could possibly need for my apartment and getting ready for this new chapter of college life!"

Kai Trump documented a trip to the store as they stocked up on essentials for her new apartment in South Beach.

In the clip, Kai, decked out in University of Miami gear, stood alongside her mother as they browsed the aisles for her new apartment essentials. Meanwhile, the mom-of-five kept things casual with a fresh-faced look, sweater and sunglasses.

"So thankful my mom was there to do it all with me. She truly is the BEST mom, and I’m so grateful for her," she continued.

Kai Trump is relocating from Jupiter, Fla. to Miami, Fla., which is about an hour-an-a-half drive.

The update came hours after the future college student revealed she was having an emotional breakdown over the move, which saw her leaving her family home in Jupiter, Fla., for South Beach, about an hour-and-a-half drive away.

"I've been like, literally sobbing," she said in a vlog posted to her YouTube channel on Saturday, August 29. "Um, it's just like really sad that I have to say goodbye to like everyone. Um, today I'm not like a very emotional person at all."

Kai documented the days leading up to the move and admitted it was "really weird" for her to cry, as she's only shown that amount of emotion a "few times."

"I think knowing I have to say goodbye to everyone tonight. It like really, really sucks," she continued. "I don't have to say goodbye to my mom tomorrow, but everything else is sad. I'm just struggling right now. Just like thinking about it, but I'm excited. It's just like I'm emotional."

The golfer has been planning her South Beach move since 2024, when she announced her verbal commitment to the private university.

Vanessa Trump announced her cancer diagnosis in May.

The move has since been complicated by her mother's b----- cancer diagnosis, which was revealed in May, just weeks before Kai's high school graduation.

Earlier this month, the Florida native shared a rare update on her mother's condition during an interview with NewsNation’s Katie Pavlich Tonight, offering a positive update following her cancer diagnosis.

"She went through treatment, got surgery, but she's doing better," she told the outlet on August 21. "It's been a little bit of a rocky road, but she's feeling better now, and hopefully she just continues getting better."
