Emilio Vitolo Jr.'s Pals Reportedly 'Shaded' Katie Holmes Before Split, They Never Really Cared For Her
Actress Katie Holmes “dumped” her restaurateur beau Emilio Vitolo Jr. earlier this month after insecurities allegedly caused the Batman Begins star to question if the wannabe actor had “ulterior motives” for wanting to date her — and now sources are revealing that Vitolo Jr.’s friends appear to happy the duo have split, as they weren’t big fans of the actress to begin with.
An insider dished that Vitolo Jr.’s friends “shaded Katie” and never really understood the hype surrounding her.
As OK! previously reported, a rep for Holmes confirmed her split from Vitolo Jr. on Friday, May 14. “The pair have parted ways,” the spokesperson said. As for why, a source recently spilled, “Their relationship fizzled,” adding that “Katie and Emilio really enjoyed their time together — it just simply didn’t work out.”
The insider noted that the Dawson's Creek alum is “focusing on being a mom” to 15-year-old daughter Suri — whom she shares with Hollywood icon Tom Cruise — and she is devoting her time to her “upcoming projects.” (She is currently in Connecticut working on a film.)
OK! spilled that following his split from the A-lister, Vitolo Jr. leaned on his friends (presumably the ones who disliked Holmes) for comfort and partied with the newly single NYC-based chef.

A source close to the 33-year-old dished, “Emilio was in a bad mood while working on Thursday night (immediately following the split) — he seemed stressed and didn’t want to be bothered. But once the restaurant closed, he celebrated his friend’s birthday and was seen drinking bourbon and wine.”
Vitolo Jr. was spotted “smiling and having a good time” after hours cozying up to a female friend and other pals. “Having the support of his friends has helped him with the breakup,” the insider added.
Throughout the party, an eyewitness noticed the newly single restaurateur was on the prowl. “He’s not wasting any time looking for someone new to date,” an insider dished, with another source spilling that Vitolo Jr. already rejoined Raya — the exclusive dating app for the rich and fabulous.
