Katie Miller has a new problem with Saturday Night Live: it is too mean to MAGA.
On the August 4 episode of her podcast, Miller, the wife of White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, discussed legacy media with Fox News host Laura Ingraham. The conversation turned to comedy, politics and why both women think SNL has lost the plot.
“That’s why SNL is not funny,” Miller said after Ingraham complained that All in the Family pushed liberal perspectives onto viewers.
When the Targets Talk Back
Laura Ingraham argued political comedy had become too mean-spirited.
Ingraham, who has been parodied on SNL herself, argued that “real humor” works when people “let go of all the politics.”
“Like, I grew up hearing Polish jokes,” Ingraham said. “I’m half Polish, so it was Polish jokes, Italian jokes. None of us took it that seriously. Not that, you know, you like being made fun of, but mean-spiritedness is different, like real mean-spiritedness.”
Ingraham has previously objected to Kate McKinnon’s impression of her on The Ingraham Angle. In one 2022 cold open, McKinnon’s version of Ingraham warned that “liberals want to take away everything that makes you American,” including “guns, hamburgers, Morgan Wallen.”
“I don’t care if he uses a slur,” McKinnon’s Ingraham said. “I just wanna dance.”
The ICE Sketch That Set Miller Off
She revisited her criticism of the show's ICE sketch featuring Pete Davidson.
Miller’s latest criticism follows her earlier anger over a February 2026 SNL cold open featuring Pete Davidson as Trump border czar Tom Homan.
In the sketch, Davidson’s Homan tried to steer chaotic ICE agents back toward their mission in Minneapolis while the agents answered questions with a mix of aggression and cluelessness. The sketch also jabbed at reports that more than one-third of ICE recruits could not pass the agency’s fitness test.

She attacked the show on social media after the ICE sketch episode.
Miller attacked the show on X after the episode.
“For over a decade, not only hasn’t SNL been funny but it’s been [the] voice of woke corporate leftists and the elite - that’s why these skits have devolved into drivel not comedy,” she wrote.
“Now imagine if they actually mocked their globalist overlords instead of bowing to their groupthink,” she added. “ICE are heroes.”
Stephen Miller Joins the Punchline
‘SNL’ also used Stephen Miller as comedy material.
SNL has also targeted Stephen Miller directly, using his intense public persona as sketch material.
In a Trump Cabinet sketch, James Austin Johnson’s Trump joked,
“I think Stephen Miller’s in here somewhere, but he’s on the ceiling,” James Austin Johnson’s Trump joked during a Trump Cabinet sketch. “Someone brought a Bible in here, and he just sort of scampered right up the wall onto the ceiling.”
