The superstar songstress has no qualms dropping big bucks on gifts for longtime boyfriend Bryan Tanaka, but a pal says he’s starting to feel embarrassed about her spending sprees.
In December, the pair traveled via private jet to celebrate the holidays in Aspen, where they were spotted shopping.
“Mariah literally drops thousands each month paying for his designer clothes, jewelry and cars,” the friend dishes. “And whenever they go on vacation, it’s luxe all the way, and he’s given carte blanche to buy whatever he pleases.”
The backup dancer, 38, who started dating the pop diva, 52, shortly after her 2016 split from ex-hubby Nick Cannon, “is a very sweet, extremely hardworking guy,” notes the pal. “Sometimes he feels uncomfortable about all this, especially since he comes from a modest upbringing.”
But the "We Belong Together" singer, who lavished her beau with a pile of luxe Christmas gifts this year, “thinks nothing is too good for her man, and she’s just going to keep showering him with presents,” the friend says. “Bryan didn’t know this is what he signed up for when he got together with Mariah, but if it makes her happy, he should just let her spoil him rotten!”

OK! previously reported that after two trips down the aisle, Carey is done with marriage for good. Despite being "very much in love," the "Always Be My Baby" artist has no plans to ever marry her backup dancer beau.
“Mariah was only 23 when she married Tommy, but he got too controlling and she felt smothered,” the source explained at the time, referring to her first marriage to Tommy Mottola. When it came to Cannon, “they wanted to have kids, and she didn’t want to do that outside of marriage.”
“Mariah isn’t budging,” the sourced added. “She’s made it clear she wants to officially remain single.”
