Mean Girls star Jonathan Bennett is riding high after making history alongside his future husband, TV host Jaymes Vaughan, as the first LGBTQ+ couple to grace the cover of wedding magazine The Knot.
The happy couple got engaged during the coronavirus pandemic, and are in the midst of wedding planning — set for next spring in Riviera Maya, Mexico — which they exclusively dished to OK! will be “drama free” and “obviously there will be cast members of Mean Girls invited.”
“We’re doing a small wedding — it’s 75 people — so the people that I’m closest with in my life will definitely be invited. Some of those people happen to be in the cast of Mean Girls, so there will be invites... oh yes! Basically, we’re going to tell people that they can sit with us at our wedding,” Bennett spilled to OK!.
Bennett added that he is especially tight with Lacey Chabert, Mean Girls’ oh-so-fetch Gretchen Wieners, and Daniel Franzese, who played Damian. “We’re very close,” he said of Chabert and Franzese. “And we sometimes talk to Amanda [Seyfried] and Lindsay [Lohan]. Everyone has such different lives and are living in different parts of the country — different parts of the world … but everyone in the cast gets along and loves each other.”
As far as what the future holds for the handsome duo when it comes to expanding their family, Bennett revealed, “Kids are definitely a possibility,” but it’s all about timing.
“We couldn’t [say when] right now because we have been advised by all of our friends to just enjoy these moments because they’re fleeting,” Bennett’s fiancé, Celebrity Page host Vaughan, exclusively told OK!. “But yes,” he said, he wouldn’t be opposed to “a little Jonathan running around.”
Bennett is also busy working, as Deadline just announced he was cast in the upcoming indie horror-film Fire Island — where a group of young hotties seek to escape pandemic-ridden New York City to the picturesque LGBTQ party haven, but their vacation quickly spirals out of control as they find themselves “caught in a web of sex, lies and cold blooded murder.”
