Meghan Markle Wants 9 Bedrooms While Prince Harry Demands No Public Footpaths in Their New U.K. Property Hunt, Sources Say

Megan Markle reportedly has a list of specifications she wants her new home in the United Kingdom to contain.

According to a source, the Duchess of Sussex, 45, yearns for her abode to have at least nine bedrooms, as well as a film studio, a large amount of land, and top-notch security and privacy protection.

A source told Daily Mail recently that Meghan and Prince Harry, 41, are currently house-hunting "in earnest" after getting their "boots on the ground" in the U.K.

The As Ever founder and the army veteran landed in England on August 26 and will be staying in the country for the time being as their kids, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, will begin their education there next month.

While Harry and Meghan are reportedly setting up a private, non-royal residence outside of London, the exact location is being kept under wraps.

Reports circulated in recent days the Sussexes are considering a $16.2 million property in the Cotswolds. However, three different sources then told the publication that no deal has actually been made regarding the pricey abode.

The couple will also still retain their homes in Montecito, Calif., and in Portugal.

According to Daily Mail's insider, Meghan and Harry's final home choice depends on visiting the locations in person.

"There is an agent involved," the source said, adding the pair have "not seen anywhere yet." Harry is also keen on having "a lot, and I mean a lot, of land, and no footpaths going across it to protect their privacy.”

Despite the Sussexes allegedly eyeing the Cotswolds as their new U.K. home base, neighbors in the area are reportedly not happy with this idea.

An insider told RadarOnline.com on August 30 Meghan and Harry's relocation might “enrage Cotswolds locals.”

“The prospect of Harry and Meghan moving here has gone from being treated as another piece of royal gossip to something people are genuinely discussing in villages, at school gates and in local WhatsApp groups," they noted. “The reaction isn't really about having celebrities on the doorstep – the Cotswolds is already packed with extremely famous and wealthy people, and residents are accustomed to giving them their privacy."

“There are questions about protection vehicles, security teams and whether roads could become more difficult whenever Harry and Meghan or their children are moving around. People don't want ordinary routines disrupted,” the source added.
