Perez Hilton’s Mom Seeks Temporary Custody of His 3 Children After Shocking Livestream Incident

Perez Hilton has left everyone shocked and concerned with his latest livestream, even his own mom.

According to People, Hilton's mother, Teresita Lavandeira, has reportedly filed for temporary custody of his three children, just three days after he appeared to self-harm on a livestream.

Per public records, Lavandeira filed the petition in a Miami family court on August 7.

Hilton, 48, livestreamed from his Miami home while covered in blood on August 4. He also appeared to self-harm in the video.

Local authorities were called to the scene after reports of a suicide attempt were made, and the blogger was then hospitalized under Florida’s Baker Act.

This state law basically allows authorities to hold someone involuntarily for a period of time if they pose a threat of inflicting harm on themselves or others.

Hilton is a single father to three children born via surrogacy: Mario (13, born 2013), Mia (11, born 2015), and Mayte (8, born 2017).

All three of them live with his mother in Miami, where the star had recently moved to be closer to his family.

In a statement previously released on his website to share details about the livestream, it was revealed that his family members had actually fled his home just moments before his mental health crisis.

"Just minutes before the public livestream incident, Perez’s children, niece, and sister were inside the home," the family wrote.

"When it became clear that Perez was experiencing a severe mental health crisis and harming himself, they immediately fled to protect the children from witnessing any further trauma," they added.

The statement continued, "Our highest priority right now is helping the children begin to heal from what they experienced. An important part of that process is allowing them to safely return home and begin rebuilding a sense of security and normalcy."

On August 8, Hilton's family shared an update on his condition through his website, PerezHilton.com.

"There are many false and inaccurate reports circulating in the media regarding Perez and the circumstances surrounding this situation," the statement read. "We want to confirm that Perez remains hospitalized under Florida’s Baker Act."

"His communication has been extremely limited and confined to immediate family, medical providers and others directly involved in his care. He has not communicated with the media or issued any public statements," it continued.

The family also said, "Perez’s condition remains serious but stable. He experienced significant blood loss and sustained additional injuries that will require surgery in the coming days."
