Rosie O’Donnell revealed that Wynonna Judd was the only Donald Trump supporter in her inner circle, despite her longtime opposition to the president.

"Now, I am friends with Wynonna Judd, who I love very much, and I’ve known her for many, many years. And she is a supporter of Trump. And somehow, we never bring it up," O’Donnell said on Kyle Ridley’s "The Tangle" podcast on August 11.

Rosie O’Donnell reflected on her close friendship with Wynonna Judd despite their political differences.

The comedian explained that her friendship with Judd remained strong despite their political differences.

"I give her a grace in a way. She’s had so much in her life with her mom taking her own life and just the the complicated nature of her upbringing. And I really love her, and I care about her, and, for some reason, I’m able to put that aside when we interact," she said.

Rosie O’Donnell shared her strong views on Donald Trump during an appearance on 'The Tangle' podcast.

O’Donnell was clear that her friendship with Judd was unusual given how strongly she felt about Trump and his supporters.

"Aside from Wy," she continued, "I can’t think of anyone else in my life who supports him, and I don’t understand the people who do. His cruelty is so blatant. His criminal behavior is so obvious. His misogyny, his racism, his homophobia. He’s just a very dark spirit, and I don’t know why that’s not obvious to the world."

Her comments came amid a political divide that has remained particularly personal for O’Donnell, who has feuded with Trump for decades.

Rosie O’Donnell discussed her 2006 clash with Donald Trump over Tara Conner’s Miss USA controversy.

O’Donnell’s conflict with Trump began in 2006 during her time as a cohost on The View.

She criticized him after he threatened to fire then-Miss USA Tara Conner following reports of underage drinking and cocaine use.

"But he’s the moral compass for 20-year-olds in America," O’Donnell said. "Donald, sit and spin, my friend. I don’t enjoy him."

Their exchanges continued over the years, including after Trump entered politics.

In 2025, per Page Six, Trump publicly threatened to consider revoking O’Donnell’s U.S. citizenship after she moved to Ireland ahead of his second inauguration.

"I’ve had 20 years of abuse from him so I knew it wasn’t going to stop," O'Donnell revealed in her nearly 10-minute TikTok video.

She also provided reassurance to her supporters.

O'Donnell said, "I’m OK. Don’t worry about me. I’m good. I’m safe here in Ireland. I’m out of the reach of the tangerine [dictator Benito] Mussolini."

Rosie O’Donnell opened up about the varied reactions she has received in Ireland when people learn about her long-running feud with Donald Trump.

O’Donnell described the reactions she received while living in Ireland, saying they differed from what she encountered elsewhere.

"I mean, I think it’s obvious outside of the U.S. because, in Ireland, not one person has said to me that they like him," the A League of Their Own star claimed.

She continued, "People come over to me and go, 'Rosie, I’d like to buy you a pint cause we hate him, too.' And I’m like, 'Fantastic.'"
