Virginia Giuffre died by suicide in April 2025, years after settling her sexual assault lawsuit against ex-Prince Andrew.
Despite their split, the former flames maintained a close relationship and lived together until recent months, when they were forced to move out of Royal Lodge after King Charles stripped the duo of their titles amid scrutiny surrounding the Epstein files.
"I don't understand how people can make salacious lies up," Ferguson declared during her TV interview, describing her reaction to Giuffre's claims as "total fury" before praising Andrew as "one of the greatest men I've ever met in my life."
Ferguson then cited Buckingham Palace's statement that "emphatically denied" Andrew had "any sexual contact or relationship" with Giuffre.

Sarah Ferguson's 2015 interview resurfaced after ex-Prince Andrew's arrest.
"They stand by that denial," the then-Duchess of York insisted. "There's nothing more to be said. It is shockingly accusatory lies which I won't stand by and let anybody believe. I have to shut it down right now."
Vieira questioned Ferguson on Giuffre's testimony, prompting her to reply: "Knowing him as I know him — and he's one of the greatest men I've ever met in my life and my best friend and great father to my children — I thought, 'I don't understand in this day and age how people can make salacious lies up and how the media then write about it and follow on with it.'"
Ferguson — who shares daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie with Andrew — continued: "This is defamation of character of a person that is the opposite of how he has been portrayed."

Sarah Ferguson remained close to ex-Prince Andrew following their 1996 divorce.
She added, "I know what it's like to [have people spread lies] and not be able to say, 'I never did it, I didn't do that, I didn't do this.' Because then everyone goes, 'Oh yeah, really?' I want to say it on [Andrew's] behalf.'"
Ferguson then appeared to seek sympathy for her daughters, asking: "Can you imagine what they've been through?"
"So, what are you saying in the confines of your home, the four of you?" Vieira asked.
In response, Ferguson expressed, "That we will not be defeated, that we are impenetrable and that we will show by success."
Ex-Prince Andrew Settled Virginia Giuffre Lawsuit for $12 Million

Ex-Prince Andrew was arrested on Thursday, February 19.
While Andrew has denied any wrongdoing in connection to Epstein's trafficking scheme, he settled Giuffre's sexual assault lawsuit in 2022 with a $12 million out-of-court payment.
The settlement came as a surprise after Andrew insisted he didn't remember ever meeting Giuffre in the first place, let alone sleeping with her.
In an unredacted email from the recently Epstein Files, however, a journalist claimed Andrew had "consensual" s-- with Giuffre. In response, Epstein did not correct the reporter.
