Much like his first marriage, Michael Jackson's union with his second wife, Debbie Rowe, was relatively brief.

After the King of Pop finalized his divorce from Lisa Marie Presley, he moved on with Rowe, marrying her in a private ceremony in Sydney, Australia, in November 1996. They had two children, son Prince Jackson and daughter Paris Jackson, before divorcing in 2000.

Seventeen years after Michael died of acute propofol intoxication, here's everything to know about his ex-wife Debbie.

Debbie was born in Spokane, Wash., on December 6, 1958. She was raised primarily by her mother in Palmdale, Calif., after her parents divorced when she was young.

She married Richard Edelman in 1982, though they divorced six years later.

Debbie had already established a career in the medical field before working as a nurse for Michael's dermatologist, Dr. Arnold Klein. She and Michael became friends in the 1980s, at a time when both were navigating unhappy marriages of their own.

In a 2010 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Lisa Marie said the "Thriller" hitmaker repeatedly pressured her to have children, telling her that Debbie "would do it" if she wouldn't.

"Michael wasn't a bad person, he didn't know any better. I took it very personally, I felt I was disposable," she admitted.

A few months after his divorce from Lisa Marie was finalized, Michael married Debbie in Australia in November 1996.

However, Debbie filed for divorce from the pop superstar after three years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. Court documents revealed the mom-of-two gave her ex-husband full custody of their children while she got an $8.5 million settlement, CNN reported.

"Not that I don't love them. I do. I think they are adorable," she said of her decision to waive her parental rights to their two children. "They're his kids. They're his kids. They are not my kids."

Debbie got engaged to Jackson's music producer Marc Schaffel in 2014.

Michael and Debbie welcomed two children during their short-lived marriage.

Their first child, Prince, was born on February 13, 1997, followed by their daughter, Paris, on April 3, 1998.

During Michael's 2005 child molestation trial, Debbie was called to testify that her 2003 televised interview had been scripted. Per CNN, she maintained it was unrehearsed and that she had hoped to reconnect with Michael and their children afterward.

The "Billie Jean" singer was ultimately acquitted of all charges.

Debbie returned to the public eye during the Jackson family's wrongful death lawsuit against AEG Live in 2013. At the time, she testified that she had seen Jackson receive propofol for sleep in the 1990s and alleged some of his doctors competed to provide increasingly powerful medications.

"Michael had a very low pain tolerance, and his fear of pain was incredible, and I think the doctors took advantage of him that way," she said at the time. "He trusted people — foolishly, foolishly trusted a lot of people."

Dr. Conrad Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in 2011 and was released from the Los Angeles Men's Central Jail in October 2013.

Debbie was diagnosed with b---- cancer in July 2016. In a since-deleted Instagram update, the "teenage drama" songstress confirmed that her mom had completed her chemotherapy sessions.

"My bada-- mom, kickin b--- n takin names. Ain't she f------ fabulous," Paris captioned the post.

While battling the dreaded disease, Paris reportedly became Debbie's "rock" throughout her treatment.

"She's amazing. She's been with me the whole time. She was there. First phone call, [it] took her 30 seconds [to reach out] when she found out," Debbie told Entertainment Tonight.

Michael named his mother, Katherine Jackson, as the legal guardian of his children after his divorce from Debbie. Following his death in 2009, she was granted custody of them.

At the time of Michael's passing, Paris reportedly began asking about her mother and got answers that were "sufficient' for her. However, she did not meet Debbie until she was 15.

"I remember coming downstairs and she was in the living room with my grandma. I came in and I was just like, 'Hey, mom.' And she was like, 'Hi.' I sat down, we talked for a second, and then we went out for the day and just hung out," Paris recalled on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast.

The "zombies in love" singer continued, "She's a [Sagittarius], so she's got the fire, and I'm an Aries, so I got the fire. We're very similar."

In the years since their first meeting, the mom-and-daughter tandem's relationship has reportedly gotten "more refined."
