Will Smith Jokes About Him & Jada Pinkett Smith Choosing 'Chaos' Hours Before Slapping Chris Rock At 2022 Oscars
Hours before Will Smith stormed the Oscars stage and slapped Chris Rock over an offensive comment he made about his wife, the actor joked about him and Jada Pinkett Smith choosing chaos on their night on the town.
As OK! reported, the King Richard actor lashed out at Rock at the Sunday, March 27, 94th Academy Awards after the comedian quipped about seeing Pinkett Smith in G.I. Jane 2 — making a reference to her shaved head due to a condition called alopecia. In the uncensored moment, Smith ran up on stage and hit the 57-year-old in the face.
"Keep my wife's name out of your f**king mouth," the Fresh Prince of Bel Air alum seethed, as the audience, as well as Rock, were left stunned and wondering whether the incident was part of the show. While Smith first let out a laugh at the low-blow joke, it was clear Pinkett Smith was visibly upset, seemingly leading to the 2022 Best Actor award winner going on stage to stand up for his wife.
Journalist Scott Feinberg pointed out The Pursuit of Happyness star appeared upset after the whole ordeal: "During the commercial break, Will Smith is pulled aside and comforted by Denzel Washington and Tyler Perry, who motion for him to brush it off. Will appears to wipe tears from his eyes as he sits back down with Jada, with Denzel comforting Jada and Will’s rep by his side."
The stressful evening came after the parents of Jaden, 23, and Willow, 21, showed off their jaw-dropping looks for the night, with the power couple both taking to their social medias to flaunt their stellar ensembles. (Smith also shares son Trey, 29, with ex-wife Sheree Zampino.)

In an Instagram video posted to his page before the awards show, Smith, clad in a black suit, joined his wife in front of a green screen to pose together in their stylish looks. The Red Table Talk host stunned in an emerald green gown she complimented with eye-popping earrings and a dazzling ring.
"Me 'n @jadapinkettsmith got all dressed up to choose chaos," Smith captioned the video, where chaotic photos of the two making funny faces together flashed in a montag.
Pinkett Smith also showed off her stunning look ahead of Rock's hurtful joke by sharing several snaps from her photoshoot to her Instagram, where she flaunted her toned leg that was on display thanks to the slit down her evening gown. "Eyes on the prize," The Matrix star captioned her sultry post.
