Lady Gaga, Jim Carrey, & More! Here Are The 2019 Golden Globe Nominations

The Golden Globe nominations are here! From a star who made her acting debut this year (Lady Gaga) to a two-time Globe winner (Jim Carrey), here’s everything you need to know before the show.
Gaga is up for best actress in a motion picture drama for her first ever role in A Star Is Born. She’s up against Nicole Kidman for Destroyer, Melissa McCarthy for Can You Ever Forgive Me?, and Rosamund Pike for A Private War.
Meanwhile her co-star, Bradley Cooper is up for best actor and best director for A Star is Born, which was his directorial debut.
The movie also has the chance at taking home best picture. It’s up against Black Panther, BlacKkKlansman, Bohemian Rhapsody and If Beale Street Could Talk.
Mary Poppins Returns is up for four awards including best motion picture for a musical. Emily Blunt, who stars as the nanny is up for best actress in the category and co-star Lin-Manuel Miranda could take home best actor.
On the TV side, Jim could walk away a winner. He’s up for best actor in a television series – musical or comedy- for his role in Kidding. That has people wondering if he wins, can he top THAT speech he delivered in 2016.

He is in the category with Sacha-Baron Cohen, Michael Douglas, Donald Glover (who continues making his mark on Hollywood) and Bill Hader.
For the ladies: Debra Messing is nominated for her role as Grace in Will & Grace. She joins Kristen Bell and Alison Brie as some of the nominees for Best Performance by an Actress in a TV Series- musical or comedy.
It could also be a very big night for the Dick Chenney biopic, Vice, which stars Christian Bale. The movie which doesn’t come out until Christmas in most places, leads the pack of nominees with 6.
Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg will host the awards on January 6.
