But the soon-to-be-mom isn't the only one who has broadcasted her acupuncture diaries. The Real Housewives of New York City star Countess LuAnn de Lesseps tried it out as a form of fertility treatment during an episode last year. While the procedure looked relatively painless on Kim K's Instagram, the thought of it still made me slightly nervous.
Despite the Bieb's advice to "never say never," I didn't think I would ever volunteer to try this out.
But after listening to the Sulwhasoo team talk about the science behind beauty and wellness at their preview event held at the YinOva center, I officially decided to take the plunge. And it's a good thing I did!
After trying out the new Sulwhasoo Concentrated Ginseng Renewing Cream, (and loving it!) I stayed around for a sample session of acupuncture performed by experts at the YinOva center. Since cream made my face feel rejuvenated and fresh, there was no turning back.
I picked the stress relief method where the acupuncturist stuck needles in my ears, arms, hands, and feet. A strange, heavy (in a good way!) and relaxed feeling came minutes later. Just from the limited amount of time that I tried it, I now understand why a celeb would give it a shot.
Jill Blakeway, the founder of the YinOva center, a board certified acupuncturist and author, talked to me about the growing trend.
"I think what it reflects is that so many more people in general are getting acupuncture, including celebrities. When I first started Chinese medicine about 15 years ago, hardly anyone got acupuncture," said Jill Blakeway.
She also explained that celebrities are basically "early adopters" and have stressful lives that benefit from the procedure.
Would I do it again? Definitely! I'll also be using the Sulwhasoo eye cream. It was the perfect beauty and wellness discovery.
