Revealed: Armie Hammer's Father Reportedly Owned A Sex Throne He Called The 'Naughty Chair'

After multiple reports of Armie Hammer’s apparent sexual fetishes surfaced online, where he allegedly texted several women writing about fantasies of cannibalism and rape, Vanity Fair has released a shocking exposé detailing that the claims against the actor are not that surprising — given that he comes from a long line of troubled men.

For years, many sources claimed that Armie’s father, Michael Hammer, bragged about owning a sex throne or, as he supposedly referred to it, the “naughty chair,” which he kept stored at the Armand Hammer Foundation headquarters — the company named after Armie's great-grandfather — in Carpinteria, Calif., according to the outlet.   

Insiders described the sex throne as being about seven feet high, featuring a chair with a hole in the seat, a cage underneath and a hook. The Hammer crest — the same one that, for years, was painted on the exterior of the headquarters — was emblazoned on the seat.

The source described a photo where Michael is sitting atop the “naughty chair,” smiling from ear-to-ear “while holding the head of a blonde woman, sitting in the cage and also smiling,” according to VF. A former friend, who knew of the alleged sex throne, said he “was not the least bit surprised” when he heard about the accusations being lodged against Armie. 

(When asked to comment on the "naughty chair," counsel for Michael and the Armand Hammer Foundation, said, “These questions, which ask about unsolicited gag gifts sent by friends, conduct that sounds pretty typical of recently-divorced people, and entirely legal financial transactions that were properly accounted for, are absurd.”)

Many people described Michael as having “the mindset of a teenage boy,” according to the outlet, adding that Armie’s father allegedly sent X-rated photos to his friends of his sexual deviances. 

As for the other men in the Hammer line... Armie's grandfather, Julian Hammer, was accused of killing a man in 1955, when he was only 26 years old. He reportedly murdered the man over an alleged gambling debt and he thought the man was coming onto his wife, Glenna Sue. 

According to the exposé, Julian’s father, Armand, had a friend deliver $50,000 in cash to a lawyer in Los Angeles who was representing his son. Julian claimed the murder was in self-defense, and the charges against him were eventually dropped.

The outlet is reporting that Armie’s great-grandfather, Armand, had multiple mistresses in his lifetime, including Martha Kaufman — a mother of two who divorced her husband after meeting Armand. 

When Armand’s wife, Frances, grew suspicious of his extramarital affairs, Armand had Kaufman legally changed her name to Hilary Gibson. The affair lasted over a decade, with Armand promising to take care of her and her children after he died. Per the outlet, Kaufman “drove a car with a homing device, used a tapped phone, and submitted to his sexual demands even when they were 'extremely humiliating.'” When Armand died, his mistress learned that he left her nothing in his will. 

Which leads us to Armie... As OK! previously reported, the Call Me By Your Name star’s troubles began in January, when the Instagram account House of Effie leaked DMs that the 34-year-old allegedly sent to an unidentified woman. In the disturbing unverified messages, Hammer allegedly detailed graphic sexual fantasies.

After the messages leaked, several women who had dated Hammer came forward with similar allegations against the Rebecca actor. "He was talking about finding a doctor to remove my ribs that I don't need — the ribs that are on the bottom — and that he had a smoker at his house. He wanted to smoke them and eat them. He wondered how they would taste and he basically was like, 'I bet you they would taste good,'" ex Paige Lorenze recalled, adding: "I think he really has a desire to hurt women."
