It's been less than three months since Bachelor nation watched Dale Moss get down on one knee and ask Clare Crawley to be his wife. But the pair has officially ended their engagement — and a source tells OK! that the 39-year-old hairstylist is absolutely crushed.
"At the end of the day, they wanted different things, and there was no compromising," says the source, adding that Crawley regrets cutting her time as the Bachelorette short to be with Moss, 32. "He swept her off her feet, and Clare took him at his word that he loved her. But she didn't know Dale well enough. If only she didn't pick him so soon."

Cracks in the pair's relationship began to show after filming ended. "They argued over distance. Clare wanted Dale to move to Northern California with her, but he didn't want to leave New York," explains the source. "Clare feels like Dale led her on and wasn't honest with her in the beginning."
According to the source, Moss was swept up in the magic and romance of the ABC series as well. "He realizes he rushed into the engagement," says the source, noting that the ex-football player asked Crawley to marry him just two weeks after their first meeting. "Yes, he was captivated by Clare's charm, [but] he felt pressured to propose," claims the source. "That's what everyone wants to see on the show."

Now that it's over, both Moss and Crawley are looking to the future. "Clare still believes in love. She is going to let herself heal and then get right back on that horse and find that special someone," says the source, adding that a stint on Bachelor in Paradise may not be totally out of the question.
Moss, however, "is telling friends he wants to focus on other projects right now," notes the source. "He had mixed feelings going on The Bachelorette and [might feel the same way about] Bachelor in Paradise," the source continues. "But summer is a ways off, and he may warm up to the idea by then."
