Barbra Streisand Dishes On Her Experience With Drugs, Says She Tried Smoking But 'Didn't Like How It Made Me Feel'
Barbra Streisand is getting real about her past experiences as a worldwide star.
While many Hollywood stars — especially those who have been in the industry for over six decades such as Streisand — have gotten caught up in the partying side that fame and fortune has to offer, the EGOT winner has managed to stay far away from it all, for the most part.
In fact, Streisand admitted she smoked a joint on stage once during a concert, but revealed she's never been a fan of smoking pot. "One night I really did it onstage when I was doing the Forum concert in the 70s, it was part of my shtick," she explained laughing. "I talked about pot and I was working with [producer] Richard Perry, so that’s why."
However, the 79-year-old insisted after trying it once, she never had an interest in going back to it. "I tried it once and I didn’t like the way it made me feel. So I never did it again," she told Variety.
As for her choice of cocktail, the "Guilty" songstress prefers a beer from time to time. "I like beer with Chinese food or Italian food and I also like non-alcoholic beer," she noted.

Meanwhile, Streisand enjoys the simpler things in life — rather than partying it up with Hollywood stars — as she insisted: "I’m enjoying my grandchildren and there’s nothing like family and home and pure love and joy and connection,” noting: “That is the most important thing to me now.”
Streisand — who has been married to husband James Brolin for 23 years and together for 25 — spent her time in quarantine falling in love with her hubby all over again. When asked what the secret is to a long marriage, Streisand candidly said: "The secret is to listen carefully."
"I think to be a good actor, you have to listen. To be a good person, you have to listen. To be a good marriage partner, you have to listen," the artist continued, "Hear the other person. Agree to disagree."
Brolin previously opened up about the couple's long-time love in June, confessing to PEOPLE: "We've literately fallen in love over this period of time, just being stuck together every day and making it work," while referring to the pandemic.
Apart from enjoying the never-ending honeymoon phase she and the director, 81, appear to be in, Streisand has been gearing up for the release of her new album, Release Me 2, a collection of ten tunes from her vault that she had never released. The album dropped Friday, August 6.
