“They still love each other,” the insider dished, adding that “Ben misses her.” Despite their sudden split, friends of the two think that there is a chance for them to rekindle their flame. “People who know them believe it’s temporary,” added an insider.
OK! previously reported that de Armas was the one who called off their “complicated” relationship, with a source close to the actress saying that “Ana doesn't want to be Los Angeles based and Ben obviously has to since his kids live in Los Angeles," which made their relationship difficult to navigate.
"This is something that was mutual and something that is completely amicable," another source added of the former couple. "They are in different points in their lives and there is deep love and respect there and Ben continues to want to work on himself. He has three jobs lined up and he’s a solid father at home. They are both happy with where they are in their lives."
Affleck and the Knives Out star were first romantically linked early last year after the two met on the set of their upcoming thriller, Deep Water.
Since his split from de Armas, Affleck has found solace in the arms of his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, OK! learned. “Ana dumped Ben. Ben fell hard and fast and was sure Ana was the one,” a source exclusively told OK!, adding that “Ben is heartbroken, and once again, Jennifer Garner is picking up the pieces.”
Insiders stressed that there is nothing romantic going on between the former flames, but that Garner feels responsible for him. “Jen doesn’t want to get back with Ben, but she does love him. He doesn’t have many friends and she feels like it is her role to help. Jen liked Ana and hoped Ben had finally found someone who could deal with him. He isn’t easy,” added a pal. “Jen supports his sobriety and will do anything to help Ben stay on track."
Affleck and Garner share three children together: Violet, 14, Seraphina, 11, and Samuel, 8.
Page Six was the first to report on Affleck and de Armas talking every day.
