Billie Eilish Ditches Signature Green Roots On St. Patrick's Day! Singer Goes Bleach Blonde Instead
New hair, don’t care! Billie Eilish has entered a new phase in her life: the blonde era. The superstar took to Instagram to debut her fabulous new ‘do.
“Pinch me,” the singer captioned the photo of her new look. Eilish ditched her signature black hair with green roots (on St. Patrick's Day, of all days!) for new bleach blonde locks with chic layers and curtain bangs.
The “bad guy” singer teased fans back in December during an Instagram Live that a change was coming. “I’m changing [my hair] after the doc comes out,” she said, referring to her Apple TV+ documentary The World’s A Little Blurry. “It will be the end of an era.”
On Wednesday, March 17, the singer posted a video of a dramatic hair flip showing of her new look. “Did you guess correctly?” the “Lovely” crooner captioned the clip.

Although the singer was born a natural blonde. Eilish is no stranger to hair transformations. Over the last several years, she’s had silver, violet, black and various shades of blue hair. Although, she has worn the iconic green roots look since 2019.
The 63rd annual Grammy Awards this past Sunday were the last event where Eilish showed off her radioactive green roots. For the ceremony Eilish rocked her signature style of oversized clothing to make a statement.

The 19-year-old singer wore a pink, black and gray patterned button down shirt and matching flared pants. She accessorized her look with white sneakers, a mask and matching bucket hat. The songstress performed her hit song “Everything I Wanted” during the ceremony.
Going into the night, Eilish was nominated for four awards: Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Solo Performance and Best Song Written for Visual Media. She took home the award for the James Bond theme song, “No Time to Die.”
