Carole Radziwill Condemns Former Friend Ghislaine Maxwell While Addressing Her Name Appearing in Epstein Files: 'Horrible Person' 

The Real Housewives of New York City’s Carole Radziwill has strongly condemned her former friend Ghislaine Maxwell, calling her a "horrible, horrible person" after Radziwill's name surfaced in the Jeffrey Epstein files.

Radziwill, the 63-year-old widow of John F. Kennedy Jr.’s cousin, Anthony, stated that she was completely in the dark about the illicit operations of Maxwell and Epstein.

Carole and Anthony were married for five years before his tragic death from cancer in 1999, a relationship that deeply shaped Carole's life, her journalistic career and her best-selling memoir, What Remains.

Radziwill, a journalist, made these remarks during a Tuesday Q&A session with Bravo host Andy Cohen to promote the 16th season of RHONY, on which she appears after leaving the show in 2018.

“Me and many, many, many more people found our names in these files, and it’s not something I shy away from because I think really it’s important to talk about it,” Radziwill said. “It’s important to be transparent.”

Maxwell was part of Radziwill's social circle and even shot the author's photo for her 2007 memoir.

The upcoming season of RHONY features the Epstein files connection in its trailer, positioning it as a major topic of discussion for the cast.

Radziwill said that “obviously I didn’t know anything, as no one, you know, 20 years ago would have known anything,” but that it’s “hard also” to grapple with the idea “that someone you knew that long ago and even called a friend at some point was a horrible, horrible person doing horrible things.”

“At first, I was really nervous, but I just think it’s an opportunity to talk about it,” Radziwill added. “There are real victims and survivors who were brave enough to really stand up to these very, very powerful people. So, you know, not to be a downer, though.”

After an eight-year hiatus, she has reclaimed her "Apple" and officially returned to Bravo as a full-time Housewife for Season 16 of RHONY, which premieres September 8.

Radziwill continues her long-standing career as an author and journalist by publishing her weekly series, "Sunday Stories," on her self-managed Substack newsletter, "The Voice of Reason with Carole Radziwill."

She balances her television and literary work with multimedia production projects, which recently included producing the theater production The Adding Machine alongside actress and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills breakout star, Jennifer Tilly.

A U.S. federal judge rejected Maxwell's bid to overturn her s-- trafficking conviction and vacate her 20-year prison sentence, calling her claims meritless and frivolous.

On August 25, U.S. District Judge Paul Engelmayer issued a 67-page ruling dismissing Maxwell's habeas corpus petition, which argued that newly released files and false testimony warranted a new trial.

Legal experts note that Maxwell has largely exhausted direct legal avenues to challenge her 2021 conviction, leaving her few options other than seeking a presidential pardon or commutation.
