Matthew Andrews — aka Nurse Matty — has captured the hearts of over 285,000 followers on TikTok with his chiseled abs and witty videos detailing his life as a nurse on an oncology unit in upstate New York. 

Nurses often spend the most time with a patient out of all the clinicians. As the pandemic stretches into 2021, they are overworked, fearful and oftentimes feel isolated from friends and family. Adding to their work stress is that nurses are often tasked with implementing policies set by others, such as strict hospital rules to ward off COVID-19. 

In comes Nurse Matty, who moonlights as an actor and model, setting out to shine a light on the important work nurses are doing around the world to fight the virus, while also bringing a little joy to social media.

The essential worker told OK! that he set out making TikTok videos in quarantine during his off time from the hospital, but never expected the overwhelmingly positive reaction his videos would receive from thousands of people around the country.

"It really has helped me to cope with the stresses of work, the pandemic, the news," he gushed to OK!. "I really enjoy making a positive impact on someone’s day and life, and now I have the ability to do it in multiple ways." 

Fellow frontline workers have commented on his clips praising his work, strangers have thanked him for his sacrifice, and many women (and men) have lusted over the hunky nurse.
