Kris Jenner is a "human magpie," obsessed with trinkets and shiny things, OK! has learned. So much so, her fixation allegedly even led her to steal valuable loot from an ex-lover!
The mega-star’s bizarre quirk is revealed in a fascinating new book, Dirty Sexy Money: The Unauthorized Biography of Kris Jenner, which uncovers the real story behind the rise and fall of modern history’s greatest celebrity dynasties.
Celebrity biographer Cathy Griffin and investigative journalist Dylan Howard use first person testimony, insider sources and in-depth research to provide an unflinching exposé of the naked ambition that drove the celeb doyenne to make her family the most famous in the world.
The book reveals that after Jenner's father, Bob Houghton, tragically died in a car accident in Mexico in 1975, she and her boyfriend at the time, professional golfer Cesar Sanudo, crossed the border to claim his body.
It was then that the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star almost caused an international incident when she accused one of the Mexican police officers of stealing her father’s Rolex watch.
"Kris’s grieving was interrupted when she spotted what she believed was her father’s Rolex watch on the wrist of a Mexican police officer. She flipped and accused the police of stealing the watch off a dead man’s wrist," the book states. "Cesar spoke Spanish and managed to talk his way out the potential incident that Kris’s outburst could have caused."
The tell-all details how Jenner remained preoccupied with the watch, and she held a grudge against her beau for not pressing the cops to return it. She believed her father would have wanted her to have it and that it would have provided her with collateral, should she fall on hard times.
The co-authors of the novel uncovered another bizarre incident in which after the golfer and Jenner broke up, she reportedly stole her wealthy boyfriend’s collection of gold coins!
Sanudo was 12 years older than the momager and had travelled around the world with her, taking her with him as he went from one international golf tournament to another. But, as was all too common for Jenner, she grew bored of him, and when she found out he had been unfaithful, she packed up her things — and his! — and left.
In Dirty Sexy Money, testimony from one of the athlete’s friends details: "Cesar told me that when Kris took off, she stole his collection of gold coins out of his house. They were Mexican 50-pesos gold pieces.
"They were worth $10,000. He never got a penny back. That was the lowest possible blow that could have happened to him because he did adore her."
What’s more, years later, when she was first invited into the home of her second spouse, Caitlyn Jenner, it seemed her fascination with trinkets was still going strong, and she was weirdly drawn to his Olympic Gold medal!
"He kept it in a drawer full of socks, but Kris insisted he get it out and show her and begged him to let her hold it," it’s claimed. "She actually got wet-eyed looking at it and insisted they both take the moment to reflect on the moment Bruce shined the brightest in his life.
"I think she saw it as a metaphor for him, unloved, but capable of much more. Later she had it framed and mounted on the wall. When you hear stories like this it’s easy to see why she became so obsessed with ostentatious bling. It’s in her DNA."
