Some critics thought Donald Trump was ogling the winner's body.
At the conclusion of the event, Trump presented trophies and $125,000 scholarship checks to the two division champions: Rockwell Myers of Utah (male division) and Kennadi Fuhrman of Kansas (female division).
During the televised broadcast and clips circulating on social media, cameras captured Trump standing close to the athletes, shaking hands and touching the male athlete's arm during the photo opportunity.
Opponents and critics labeled the interaction as "uncomfortable" or awkward, while supporters viewed it as standard presidential interaction and congratulatory behavior typical of high-profile sporting events.
Social Media Reacts

“Trump giving the teenage boy winner of the Patriot Games a couple of glances up and down,” posted popular X account PatriotTakes.
“I can’t believe parents would let their kids around this p---,” said one commenter.
“Notice he had no trouble keeping awake when there were teenagers around. It's been going on for decades. From hiring 16-year-old girls at Mar-a-Lago to give 'massages' to walking in on beauty pageant dressing rooms. He trafficked and raped children. Facts don't lie,” said another in reference to previous accusations and recent allegations from the Epstein files.

The elderly president has a well-documented habit of publicly praising and fixating on physiques, musculature and appearances of men he encounters, ranging from elite athletes to military cadets. His frequent remarks have drawn widespread attention and cultural analysis.

Donald Trump recently raved over the bodies of male athletes like Jordan Stolz and Jaxson Dart.
Most recently, during a White House reception, Trump gushed over Olympic speedskater Jordan Stolz's "very strong legs" and asked how he could get his legs to "look like that." At an earlier event, Trump told a crowd he had touched Stolz's leg, remarking it's "like a rock."
At a separate event, Trump openly stated that he wished he looked like the "beautiful" and "handsome" quarterback Jaxson Dart, comparing Dart's lower body to "tree trunks."
At a Coast Guard graduation ceremony, Trump, unprompted, stated, "I hate good-looking men," then called out a top fitness scorer by commanding the crowd to "look at the muscles on this guy!" He noted that hitting the cadet's shoulder was like hitting a rock.
